Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden-Powell, British Army Officer, authors Aids to Scouting while stationed in India
1907 - Baden-Powell founds Scouting at Brownsea Island
1910 - William D. Boyce, Chicago businessman, visits England, gets lost in fog and is guided out by scout
1910 Boy Scouts of America is incorporated
1914 Baden-Powell starts Scouting program for younger scouts based on Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book
1925, Dr. Huber W. Hurt, research psychologist finds only 1 of 50 boys participate in organized leisure-time program
1930 Cub Scouts launched in America
