‘At the heart of everything we do is our belief in providing positive outcomes for learning, enrichment and personal development. We believe we share these aspirations with you as teachers and parents’.

PGL courses support a range of skills and outcomes which cannot be easily achieved in a school environment. We encourage the physical, social and mental development of our children and promote their wellbeing, positive attitudes and self confidence to help them develop into successful learners, responsible citizens and confident individuals.

• Building confidence and helping children to lead safe, healthy and fulfilling lives. Our courses change attitudes and raise aspirations, through participation in new activities. Rising to new challenges and living alongside their peers helps your pupils to become more adaptable and confident, skills which are critical to so many areas of their development.

• Your children’s experience at PGL is all about learning social and interpersonal skills, giving encouragement to others and experiencing the benefits of peer support. These are powerful learning outcomes which contribute to a sense of belonging, feeling valued and making a positive contribution in their community and society at large.

• Supports transition.

So why PGL?

Page 15: Parents information evening and residential 2016/17

•Leadership, teamwork, communication and problem solving are all key skills that your pupils will develop and make progress with on a PGL multi-activity course.

•Their renewed enthusiasm and motivation for learning will inspire success in many other areas of their education, often leading to raised levels of attainment.

•Overcoming new challenges with the support of their peers, teachers and PGL staff helps to improve self-confidence.

•The outdoors environment provides many opportunities for your pupils to work closely together and will help improve their social awareness.

•Reaching goals as a team means pupils are able to recognise the achievements of others as well as their own.

•You’ll notice improvements in many personal qualities such as self-reliance, responsibility, initiative and perseverance.

•Pupils leave with an appreciation for the benefits of health and physical fitness.

•Have fun, build/ develop friendships and make memories to last a lifetime!
