TOPICS When revising the 1st term work with your child please

ensure that you re-explain, re-emphasise, re-drill the following in shaa Allah :

WHAT IS TAHDHIB?

A) The DEFINITION of ‘TAHDHIB’. B) What is shown in the 4 pictures on page 3 and why good behaviour is important.

C) What is shown in the 4 pictures on page 4 and why we should stay away from bad behaviour.

Note: To ensure that they are practising Islamic behaviour at home link your childs good or bad behaviour to what they learnt in the lesson. D) Why we do things to please Allah . E) The HADITH on page 5 which should have been memorised with understanding. F) What is in the Noble Qur’aan and the Hadith (page 6). G) Ask your child to give his / her description of Jannah. H) Join in the ‘Sing along’ (page 7) with your child. I ) “Sunnah Activity’ Page 8. Emphasise the importance of imitating the actions of Prophet Muhuammad . If you have a Miswaak make sure your child uses it daily and as often as possible. J) Evaluation: Ask the REVISION QUESTIONS from Pg 7 K) Ensure that the ‘Learner activity’ on pg 8 and 9 was done and that your signature appeared on pg 9.

A) Re-explain what is meant by >Allah is Everywhere= referring to the Quraanic Aayah (page 10) in the simplest of forms. B) Re-emphasise that Allah Knows EVERYTHING that happens EVERYWHERE for eg; What happens on earth, the skies, on land, even about the in the sea, single leaf that falls.

C) Ensure that your child always says >= after >Allah= when mentioning His Name. D) Read the incident of Qaasim and join your child in enacting the scene, as the teacher would have done in class with all learners. E) Re-drill the lesson learnt from it: WE CANNOT HIDE ANYTHING FROM ALLAH EVER! F) Re-emphasise that we must always obey ALLAH and Prophet Muhammad G) Always remind your child that Allah is MOST MERCIFUL and that Allah waits for us to do good so that we can be rewarded. H) Evaluation: Ask the Revision questions from Page 14. I ) Ensure that your child is practising the Sunnah Activity from page 15 during every meal. Please make sure that before your child eats anything for example chips, sweets etc. that he/she atleast says ‘Bismillah’. J) Check that the ‘Learner activity’ on page 15 & 16 was completed and that you had signed on page 16.

TOPICS When revising the 1st term work with your child please

ensure that you re-explain, re-emphasise, re-drill the following inshaa’Allah :

Tawheed

1. TAWHEED means to believe that Allah is One and that He does not have nor does He need a partner. (Page 1) 2. The Kalimah Tayyibah with the meaning. (Page 1)

“There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.” To show

that Prophet Muhammad is the last and final Messenger of Allah .

3. Tawheed explained in Surah Ikhlaas (Page 2) Allah is One; Allah is not in need of anyone or anything;

Allah does not have a family; there is no one like Allah.

TOPICS When revising the 1st term work with your child please

ensure that you emphasise on the following in shaa Allah :

LESSON 1 & 2

1. In Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 your child was taught the basic introductory conversation, that is: firstly greeting the other with the salaam, stating who they are, asking the other how he / she is and checking on the condition of the other. 2. The teacher would have introduced the conversation to the learners by drilling each line, then pairing the learners and facilitating the conversation between the 2. 3. In like manner carry out the conversation from both lesson 1 and 2 with your child ensuring that the target vocabulary in the table below is correctly used in shaa Allah. 4. The target vocabulary indicates the terms that will be used when speaking to a boy or a girl.. 5. Please note that at this level we do not explain anything further except to emphasise that when addressing a boy or girl the words for ‘you’ and ‘your’ are different. 6. Please also note that the word for ‘I’ whether boy or girl is the same as shown in the table below. These terms have been circled for your benefit. 7. Carry out these conversations with your child as often as possible on a daily basis and in shaa Allah they will eventually be conversing with you in Arabic as easily as they do in English.

1. In Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 your child was taught the basic introductory conversation, Lesson 3 and 4 are extensions to these basic conversations. 2. Your child was taught how to ask about the third person in their midst and what to say to welcome that person. 3. The target vocabulary indicates the terms used for ‘this is’ for a boy and for a girl. 4. We do not at this level explain anything further except to emphasise that when referring to a boy or girl the terms for ‘this is’ for a boy and a girl are different. These terms have been circled for your benefit. 5. Carry out these conversations with your child as often as possible on a daily basis and in shaa Allah they will eventually be conversing with you in Arabic as easily as they do in English.

Please note that all Surahs will be recited with proper Makhaarij and Tajweed,

all Du`aas, Kalimahs and Etiquettes with proper Makhaarij. Please refer to the

Hifz preface for understanding of the colour coding, in shaa Allah.

HIFZ REVISION CHART with reminders– TERM 1 - BOOK 1

TOPICS When revising the 1st term work with your child please

take note of the points below. By adhering to them and constantly reminding your child at home, he/she will become more conscious of their

actions and will inculcate Sunnah into their lives easily in shaa Allah.

1. Ta`awwuz

& Tasmiyah

a) Ta`awwuz and Tasmiyah are to be recited with Tajweed. Pay attention to the pronunciation not just to the memorisation.

b) Ensure the letter ‘ ا ا ‘ is not read as ’ ط .in the word as is commonly done ‘ ت

c) Both are recited before reading any Surah or at the beginning of any good task.

d) Encourage your child at home to always say at least ‘Bismillah’ before any task.

2. Du`aa

for Knowledge

a) The du`aa is to be recited with correct Makhaarij. Pay attention especially to the

letter ‘ .’in the word as it is often pronounced as an ‘alif ’ ع

b) Your child should have recited this du`aa before you began the revision if not he/she should do so. Remind him/her to recite this du`aa before

the start of any lesson whether at Madrasah or school.

3. Kalimah Tayyibah & Shahaadah

a) Listen to your child recite the Kalimahs with correct makhaarij (pronunciation). b) Encourage your child to always keep his/her tongue busy with Kalimah Tayyibah. c) To motivate your child to recite Kalimah Shahadaah remind him/her that whoever

of us recites it sincerely, Allah will open the 8 doors of Jannah for us and we will

be able to enter from whichever door we desire. (hifz page 15).

d) Ensure your child does not leave out the words in Kalimah Shahaadah

as is commonly done.

4. Du`aa before

eating

a) Remind your child to always wash the hands before eating and not to wipe them, b) Ensure that your child always recites the du`aa before having any meal, snack, fruit etc c) Check that he/she eats and drinks with the right hand and never wastes food.

c) Pay attention to the pronunciation of the letter ‘ in the word as it is often ’ ع

pronounced as an ‘alif’

5. Du`aa after eating

a) Ensure that your child does not waste any food,

b) that he/she licks his/her fingers after eating,

c) recites the du`aa after eating loudly to encourage the recitation and

also motivate others that might not have read it or may not have known it.

d) that he / she washes the hands and also gargles his / her mouth after eating.

6. Du`aa before

entering the toilet a) Ensure that the letters ‘ ذ ’ and ‘ . are correctly pronounced ’ ث

b) To ensure that your child knows the du`aa ask him/her to recite it loudly before entering the toilet. c) Check that he/she enters the toilet with the left foot. d) Remind them to sit and relieve themselves.

7. Du`aa after

leaving the toilet

a) Ensure that your child always makes Istinjaa using the left hand. b) that he/she exits with the right foot and reads the du`aa after he/she has stepped out of the toilet. c) ensure that he/she washes his/her hands thoroughly.

d) Ensure that the letters ‘ ح عذ’ were all pronounced correctly.

HIFZ REVISION CHART with reminders– TERM 1 - BOOK 1

TOPICS To inculcate the Sunnah into your childs life please ensure that your child

uses all the Islamic etiquette taught. Commonly learners memorise the etiquette for exam purposes only. As the parent/guardian you are in the

best position to ensure that these Sunnah etiquettes are part of your childs daily life and daily conversation in shaa Allah.

8. The Islamic etiquettes: The etiquette’s below are found in the IEOSA hifz text book (Book 1) with all of the Sunnah aadaab.

8.1. Islamic

greeting

a) Ensure that the letters / word ‘ عهللا

.are all pronounced correctly ’ ح

b) Encourage the Salaam in your home as often as possible and discourage your child/children from saying just the word ‘Salaam’ as it is not in the Sunnah to do so. c) Remind your child that it is ‘Salaam before speech’ .

8.2. When hearing good news or replying to being asked ‘how are you?’

a) Ensure that the letters ‘ هللا are pronounced ’ ح

correctly.

b) Encourage your child to ask especially elders how they are and to themselves respond with ‘Alhamdulillah’ rather than using the words, fine or okay.

8.3. When intending to do something.

a) Ensure that the word ‘ is pronounced ’ هللا

correctly. b) Encourage usage as often as possible. Please note that the more you use this term during your conversations the easier it will become for your child to always use it in his/her conversation.

8.4. When congratulating a Muslim on a good deed a) Whilst it is necessary for your child to know when to use this term, it is just as important that you always say use it on him/her as one of the best forms of encouragement.

8.5. When one has sinned a) Ensure that the word ‘ هللا and are pronounced ’ غ

correctly. b) Ensure that every time your child does something wrong or says something out of turn that you exclaim with the word ‘Astaghfirullah’. By doing this your child will know for sure that they should stop bad behaviour and will himself/herself recite ‘Astaghfirullah’ .

8.6. When bidding farewell a) Encourage your child to bid farewell to someone with these words after calling out the salaam.

8.7. When one yawns a) Ensure that the letters ‘ ع ى ’ ظ

are pronounced correctly. a) Ensure that your child always covers his/her mouth with the left hand whilst yawning and to not make any sound whilst yawning except to read the du`aa after yawning.

a) Ensure that your child always covers his/her mouth when sneezing and says the following:

SUNNAH METHOD OF WUDU COVERED IN THE 1ST TERM OF GRADE 1 / YEAR 1

PRACTICALS REVISION CHART – TERM 1 - BOOK 1 1. Your child would have learnt the complete Sunnah method of Wudu as shown in the diagram. 2. Please encourage him/her to always be in a state of Wudu. 3. Ensure that he/she does not waste water. 4. Take note of the points below and be sure to avoid the common errors

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR CHILD : a) completes the reading of the Du`aa, Ta`awwuz & Tasmiyah & THEN proceeds with the washing of the hands Common error - children often begin their actions whilst still reading the Du`aa, Ta`awwuz and Tasmiyah.

b) uses his/her right hand only for the washing of the mouth. Common error – children often use their left hand to wash the mouth.

c) uses his / her left hand for the washing of the nose. Common error – children often use their right hand to wash and clean the nose.

d) makes Masah (wipes) only the back of the neck and not the front. Common error – children wipe the back of their necks as well as the sides and front. This is a disliked action.

e) washes the entire arms up to and INCLUDING the ELBOWS. Common error – children tend to leave out washing the elbows. Both elbows MUST be washed.

f) washes both their feet INCLUDING their ankles and their heels (back of the foot). Common error – children often leave out the ankles and heels. Both ankles and heels MUST be washed.

g) recites Kalimah Shahaadah after Wudu.

When revising the Fat-hah single letters with your child ensure that he / she: - Recites the single letter and the three letter words at the bottom of the page with correct makhaarij (pronunciation) and as short sounds for example: - Recognises- if your child has a problem remembering the letter refer to that section of the page that shows the shape of the letter in picture form, for example: This should jog their memory of the letter in shaa Allah, as the teacher would have told them a little story related to this letter. - Completes Activities – Join the dots and colour the letter – To re-inforce the letter and assist with writing practise your child would have been asked to complete the colour in and join the dots activity. If this was not done ensure that it is completed in shaa Allah. - Please note that the graphics and accompanying word assists in the learning process of the sound of the letters, and is not necessarily for your child to read. Draw a picture of the Ka`bah in your homework book, colour it in and below it write

down when Prophet Muhammad was born.

HIFZ

Ask your mum, dad, sister, brother, or whoever is available to listen to the content

that you have memorised and to tick your assessment section in your text book. If

you have any crosses, then ensure to correct your recitation so you only have ticks

inshaa Allah. Teach a member of your family any Du`aa that you have learnt.

Practicals

How many times do you make Wudu in a day?

Draw a picture in your homework book of what you did after you made Wudu and

show it to your Mu`allimah when you return to Madrasah in shaa Allah.

ARABIC

Carry out the Arabic conversation with a family member and ask him / her to record

your conversation.
