EDITORIAL

Recognized by all as an outdoor sport, freshwater coarse fishing is also a highly complex activity based on concentration and gestural perfection. Saint Quentin is blessed with an extraordinarily rich aquatic environment and has naturally become a prime destination to indulge in this discipline.

By hosting the Coarse Angling World Club Championship for no

less than 500 competitors from 30 different nationalities, Saint Quentin establishes itself as a key venue for elite world class angling. Our city is proud to be recognized as such by the highest levels of the discipline and also by world class elite technicians. This acknowledgement is all the more important as France has not been host to this championship since 2003.

We would like to congratulate and express our gratitude to all the

Team Sensas members of Saint Quentin and their president, Sylvain Accart, for having accepted the challenging task of organizing this championship. The event will draw more than 10 000 spectators making it a major touristic attraction for our city.

We would also like to thank the Fédération Française de Pêche

Sportive (National Sports Fishing Federation) and the Fédération de Pêche de l’Aisne (Fishing Federation of the Aisne region) for the trust and confidence they have put in us. We would also like to thank the Voies Navigables de France (French Navigable Waterways) to enable us to organize this international event.

Of course, we would also like to wish the best of luck to all the

competitors who will pit their technique and skills against each other during this milestone championship for our city.

All events and the competition of the 37th Coarse Angling World Club Championship will take place on the canal which is located in the city of Saint-Quentin for 4 zones, a 5th zone being located in SERAUCOURT LE GRAND (17 km from St Quentin).

The competition will be held on different sections of the canal covering a total distance of about 10 km. Each sector is easily accessible with a car via roads or towpaths.

The depth ranges from 2.50 to 4 meters.

THE VENUES AND MEETING PLACES



FISH SPECIES :

The main species of fish are : common and silver bream, roach and bleak.

The minimal capture size is 60 cm for pike and 50 cm for zander, eels do not count.

MAXIMUM QUANTITY OF BAIT, GROUND BAIT AND LENGTH OF ROD

- 20 litres of groundbait including earth, gravel, sweet corn, wheat, hempseed, etc. or any other fauna and water environmentally friendly additives.

- 2 litres of bait, of which a maximum amount of 1 liter can be aquatic larvae (jokers and bloodworms). In any case the maximum amount of bloodworms can be 0.25 liter. A maximum amount of 0.5 liter of earthworms is allowed in the total baits

For the Championship, the maximum rod length is 13 meters. The keep-net mesh may not exceed 10 mm by 10 mm. The keep-net must have a minimum diameter of 40 cm for round ones, a 50 cm minimum diagonal for rectangular ones and a minimal length of 3.50 metres.

WHERE ARE WE AND HOW TO JOIN US :

The event venue is located in the surroundings of the conurbation of Saint-Quentin in the department of Aisne, region of the HAUTS de FRANCE. Saint-Quentin is a fusion of the past, present and future and is proud to be recognized as the progressive capital of the Picardie region as well as being a dynamic city in the centre of north-western Europe. During the whole event and at each access point to the city, you will find signposts that will guide you to the different sectors of the competition and the different meeting points.

- By plane : a) Via the ROISSY CHARLES DE GAULLE airport, exit PARIS NORD, which is 150 km from Saint-Quentin. To get to Saint-Quentin you need to take the A1 / E15 / E19 motorway in the direction of LILLE. Then take the A 29 in the direction of AMIENS/SAINT-QUENTIN, take the SAINT QUENTIN centre exit. b) Via the LILLE–LESQUIN airport, 100 km from Saint-Quentin. To get to Saint-Quentin you need to take the A1 motorway in the direction of PARIS. Then take the A 26 in the direction of REIMS, take the SAINT QUENTIN centre exit. c) Via the BEAUVAIS airport, 135 km from Saint-Quentin. To get to Saint-Quentin you need to take the A16 motorway in the direction of AMIENS. Then take the A 29 in the direction of SAINT QUENTIN, take the SAINT QUENTIN centre exit - By car : Take the A 26 and the A 29 motorways to reach the city of Saint-Quentin, take the SAINT QUENTIN centre exit and follow the indications to Saint-Quentin.



TEAM ACCREDITATIONS: All delegations must, as soon as they arrive, go to the main office of the Organization of the Fédération Française de Pêche Sportive - Freshwater division and the FIPSed, located at the "Gymnase de l’Ameublement, Chemin de Morcourt in SAINT QUENTIN.

REGISTATION FOR THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP : Registration for the Coarse Angling World Club Championship must be sent before the 1st of June 2017, via the attached registration forms. All additional information will be given to the teams upon arrival and on-site registration.

TEAM REGISTRATION FEES : Team registration fee € 1,300.00 FIPSed fee € 150.00

The registration fee includes 9 tickets for the gala closing banquet, 6 fishing licenses, insurance and possibly some goodies. The participating nations are responsible for accommodation costs. For accompanying persons, the gala ticket will cost € 50.00 per person.

The registration fee of € 1.450,00 (€ 1.300,00 plus € 150.00) must be paid to the following bank account for the registration to be valid.

The venue will be closed to fishing fourteen days preceding the first training day (closed from the 8th of July to the 23rd of July 2017). During these 14 days, training at the venue will also be forbidden for all participating Nations on the entire zone of the championship. OPENING CEREMONY : The opening ceremony of the 37th Coarse Angling World Club Championship and the presentation of the national teams will take place on Thursday 27th of July 2017 in the beautiful city of Saint-Quentin. Anglers, team captains and delegates must meet at 05:30 pm at the "Palais des Sports Pierre Ratte", avenue de Remicourt, for the official parade. The parade will include all teams of the different participating clubs, each proceeded by their flag bearers, musicians and the officials from the Federation. After the greeting of the flag bearers, there will be a speech made by the authorities and the official presentation of all of the teams that are taking part in the World Championship.

PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY : It will take place at 06:30 pm at the "Palais des Sports Pierre Ratte", avenue de Remicourt, on Sunday the 30th of July 2017.

CLOSING GALA BANQUET : It will take place around 08:00 pm at the "Palais de FERVAQUES", Rue Victor Basch, on Sunday the 30th of July 2017.
