ParaNet! INTERNET QUERY SYSTEM USER GUIDE

The ParaNet! System is a comprehensive query system designed to provide immediate access to critical co-op claim, fund status and marketing information. Reporting capabilities allow for the generation of customized queries for evaluating pro-gram activity.

Software Requirements: Microsoft Internet Explorer (preferably version 5.1) or Netscape. The latest versions of the browsers are available at

www.microsoft.com or www.netscape.com. ParaNet! offers daily access to your files! Query capabilities include: u Customer Co-op fund accruals and balances u Claim status and detail u Product expenditures u Media Expenditures u Ad Date/Process Date recaps u Key Account Reporting WHO SHOULD I CALL WITH QUESTIONS?: Contact your ACB Customer Service Representative.

SYSTEM SIGN ON

Your User ID and Password will be provided by your ACB representative.

Passwords provide system security as well as limiting

access to specified geographic areas and/or customers.

The two primary options from this screen are to select either “CUSTOMER IN-QUIRY” and review claim and fund details at the customer level, or “ParaNet! REPORTS” where you can run summary level reports.

CUSTOMER INQUIRY - The selection for viewing detail or summary information at the cus-tomer level. ParaNet! REPORTS - This option will take you to the Report menu screen where you can specify selection criteria and generate reports. Note: A graph of the data will be included if you have set the option on the Main Menu screen to display graphs. To disable the graph option, return to the main menu and turn the option off.

In addition, you have the option of selecting the following:

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions - An information source for ParaNet! answering some of the questions that you may have about ParaNet! functionality. USER MANUAL - Provides on-line access to the detailed user instructions for ParaNet! This manual can be printed for future reference. LOGOUT - When you have completed your query session, select this to log off of ParaNet!

ParaNet! Inquiry System CUSTOMER INQUIRY Select a Customer

All customers meeting the specified criteria will be listed. Select the appropriate customer for inquiry by clicking on the customer number displayed in the left col-

umn.

To generate a customer query, first select the customer by entering the Customer Name (or portion of name) OR the Customer Number and then click on SEARCH.

The selected customer’s name and address will be displayed at the top of the screen. Additional information about the customer (including the full mailing address) can be reviewed by clicking on the appearing beside the customer name and number.

You can define your query by proceeding with the following steps: 1. FUND SELECTION: You may omit funds from your query by clicking off the check mark dis-played beside that fund. (The default is to include all funds and years.) 2. SELECT QUERY: Select the query from the list displayed. The query will run and the results will be displayed on the subsequent screen. Note: A graph of the data will be included if you have set the option on the Main Menu screen to display graphs. You can select to display the graphs in either a Flash or GIF format.

• The query can be printed in either portrait or landscape mode by changing the page setup.

• Each of the query result screens provide the option of exporting the data into Excel by

clicking on the Excel icon appearing on the screen. Once you export the file, a box will appear with instructions for saving the file, and you can select from the following options:

1. Save this file to disk 2. Rename the file (make sure the file extension is .xls)

3. Open the saved file in Excel • Clicking on the links built into the reports will provide more detailed information for the

fund and/or claim selected. • To run a query for a different customer, select CUSTOMER SELECTION to return to the

previous screen.

The query results will be displayed on the screen.

The Account Detail screen will display all summary information for the fund selected on the Account Recap screen.

The Transaction Recap query lists all fund transactions processed, sorted and subtotaled by fund.

The Claim Summary query lists all of the claim transactions processed for the customer.

The Claim Detail screen provides additional detail about each transaction processed for the customer.

The following information is optional and will be displayed only if relevant to your program: Pre Approvals - All pre-approvals submitted to ACB including process date, amount ap-proved and status. Special Messages - Any customized message addressing specific instructions for proc-essing a customer’s claims. Claims in Process - All claims received by ACB but not yet fully processed. Product/Category Recap - Details all payments and accrued funds at the product level.

ParaNet! Reports

Generating reports in ParaNet! is simple, following the three step process listed on the left side of the screen.

You may return to the Main Menu, Report Menu, or switch to the Customer Inquiry Option at any time by clicking on the Navigation Toolbar.

Start by clicking on Step 1 - SELECT FORMAT AND REPORT. The Report Format Options will appear on the screen. Step 1 – Select Format and Report 1a. Select Format - Selecting the grouping will define any required sorting and subtotaling by geographic level. 1b. Select Report - Specify which report you would like to generate by clicking on the report name/description. The selected report will be displayed in the Report Criteria Box in the bottom right portion of the screen.

Step 2 - Define Report Criteria

You can define the specific selection criteria for each report that you run. The selection criteria include the following options: Customer or Customer Type Fund or Fund Year Media or Media Group Product or Product Group Ad Dates (From and Through) ACB Process Dates (From and Through) Note: You can select from one or more categories for each report. Certain selection categories are limited to a maximum of 10 items. Certain reports limit the criteria to only those relevant categories.

ParaNet! Inquiry System ParaNet! REPORTS Processing a Report

Step 3 – Process Report Once you have selected the report and specified the criteria to be included, you can now

process your report. All selected criteria will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Displaying your Report: You have the option of displaying the report results on the screen or exporting the data into an Excel spreadsheet. The default is to display the report on the screen. This report can now be printed. Exporting to Excel:

Once your have made your report selection, select “Open in Excel” from the drop down box in Step 3. Select “Process Report”. Another box will appear asking you what you want to do with the file. You can either;

1) Open this file from the current location (without saving it) 2) Save this file to disk

Please note: If you open this file without saving it, you can either discard the results at the end of the session or you can save the file after you’ve viewed it.
