When we think of great strategists in history, from Sun Tzu to Alexander the Great to Napoleon to

Patton, we think of leaders who personify timeless principles and can think two or three moves ahead. Strategy is the management of natural competition. That is, how it compresses time.

Strategy is a singular thing; there is one strategy for a given business — not a set of strategies. It is

one integrated set of choices: what is our winning aspiration; where will we play; how will we win; what capabilities need to be in place; and what management systems must be instituted?

“In real life, strategy is very straightforward. You pick a general direction &

implement like hell.” – Jack Welch

This quote by Jack Welch the iconic CEO of General Electric from 1981 and 2001 revolutionized the

way we looked at strategy around the world and it plays a big part in how we at Paramarsh like to operate. The strategy & Consulting consortium at NMIMS aptly named 'Paramarsh' has always excelled

at connecting the corporate world of consulting with the academia.

'Paramarsh' provides a platform for industry experts and students to network and facilitates

interaction between them. It aims to appreciate the viewpoint experts can bring through their insights, experiences & lessons learnt in the industry and also encourages students to think about

real business problems.

Led by a brilliant & hardworking team instills a sense of comradery and togetherness that makes the club more of a family and that shows in all activities the club conducts.


Paramarsh Team 2015-16:

Team Paramarsh had a successful & eventful year (2015-16). The team took excellent initiatives to

host innovative events getting a huge appreciation all round. Pioneering strategy games and consulting projects and has developed a reputation for unmatched innovation, Ranked as the 3rd best

club for the year 2015-16, Team Paramarsh is committed to deliver results engaging the students community and enhancing the brand NMIMS Bangalore at large.

Events Organized by Team Paramarsh:

Stratosphere:

The first event of the year for the energetic team of Paramarsh began with Stratosphere on a high

note. The event was an assortment of fun and strategy which began with a first round of strategy

quiz. The Paramarsh Team sat together and thought of “why not to make a strategy game?” And

the team came up with an interesting strategy game of “Subway Samasya”- A game of strategy in

the market. The participants on board were delighted by the game, appreciating the Team

Paramarsh. The final round was the live case analysis on Future Group - ‘The Rebirth of Kishore Biyani’. Keeping in mind the highly competitive

retail market with the advent of e-commerce retail as well, the participants were expected to analyze

the prominence and strategy of Future Group after its merger with Bharti Retail and its introduction of the ‘Omnichannel’ approach. The event was

appreciated as the “Most Engaging Event of the Year”.

To grace the occasion, we had our Director, Mr. Suresh Mony and Prof. Harsh Vardhan as our judges.

Chanakyaneeti:

Team Paramarsh once again organized a successful event “Chanakyaneeti” as a part of Nityaksh-IV, The

annual cultural fest of NMIMS Bangalore. The Pioneers of strategy games once again came up with

an innovative game making the minds think like a warrior in a battle field. The game was an

amalgamation of auction process with the mobile applications. The event attracted participation from

top notch B-Schools across India. The unmatched success of the event enhanced the image of the club

to next level making it as one of the best clubs across the student community of NMIMS Bangalore.


Ace the Case:

The Student run club aims at bringing the

industry interaction closer through live case competition. On this note, Team Paramarsh

organized a Pan India live case study competition in association with Pikkol

Packers & Movers, giving an opportunity to the students a live exposure to the business

problems & to work with the industry professionals on real business case. The

competition had received entries from 300+ institutions & 3000+ students making it a

huge success. The event had the presence of senior team from Pikkol along with the

faculty mentor Prof. Harsh Vardhan as our judges.

Strategy Conclave 2016:

The flagship event of the Club Paramarsh – The Strategy & Consulting Consortium of

NMIMS, Bangalore had organized the second edition of its annual “Strategy Conclave” with the theme “Technology will shape the

future of Businesses”.

The case study event had overwhelming response in terms of participation from 350+

institutes pan India & 4500+ students this year due to its huge success of its first edition

from institutes across the country. The eminent panelist members were invited from

top-notch corporate firms to judge the performance of the participants.

The event continued with the knowledge sharing session of the Guests & the Director of NMIMS, Bangalore. Strategy Conclave 2016 paved the way for students and industrial experts to network and

interact between them. It also helped the students to appreciate the view points of the experts about the various real life business problems. The event ended on a high note with appreciation from

the audience and the keynote speakers to the organizing team for a successful event.

• The club is committed to enhance and maintain the brand NMIMS, Bangalore. • All the activities of the club targets to provide a platform for students to interact with

academia and industry professionals and develop an understanding of the consulting domain, thereby enhancing their readiness for a career in management consulting through knowledge sharing.

• The club plans for a strong foot on its social media platforms reaching students and industry experts about the activities at NMIMS Bangalore.

• The Corporate associations of various events of the club have been fruitful in the past by providing Internships & Live projects. The club plans to enhance its Corporate relationships through initiatives like expert talk series making the presence of top notch brands in the field of consulting at NMIMS Bangalore.
