The parade will be streamed via social media. Judging will take place virtually with each unit featured on the social livestream while in the "judging" zone. Parade Information, Rules & Regulations

RULES & REGULATIONS: 1. Arrive on time--staging begins at 2 p.m. Units must be in their designated space no later than 4 p.m. Roads will be closed by the North Port Police Department at 4 p.m. and there will be no access to the staging area. Units arriving after 4 p.m. will be unable to participate. 2. Clearly display the parade number for your unit. 3. All units including tow vehicles must be decorated. 4. It is recommended that parade units be illuminated in some manner (lights, flashlights, glow in the dark items, etc.) 5. Stay in the assigned order unless specifically directed by a parade official. 6. Follow a straight course along the route in a cautious and safe manner. 7. Riding on and/or jumping from the hood, roof, trunk or door frames of any vehicle is prohibited. 8. Distribution of food, candy, and other materials is not permitted. 9. Sound systems should be placed with speakers facing the sides of the unit to minimize interference with other parade units. 10. All units/vehicles must proceed past the end of the parade route to the disembark location before stopping and/or unloading. Breakdown of floats cannot be completed on the roadway. 11. Units will have the opportunity to temporarily stop in the judges zone for online viewing and judging. If entertainment is part of your participation, you will be limited to 30 seconds to perform, otherwise keep the procession moving. Units/vehicles are not allowed to stop during the parade at any other time. 12. Live Santas are not permitted. 13. The parade will take place rain or shine. Delay and/or cancellation may occur in the event of inclement weather, as determined by the City. 14. All floats must have a fire extinguisher with current inspection tags. 15. Maximum of 10 participants per float/vehicle.

ROAD CLOSURES/PARKING REGULATIONS • Due to parade road closures, entry must be made via Greewood Ave. from Sumter Blvd. • Parade route roadways including North Port Blvd., Appomattox Dr., and Greenwood Ave. will close at 4 p.m. • Parade participant drop-off will be available at the Dallas White Park via Sam Shapos Way. Details on parade participant pickup/disembark area to be announced. • No spectator parking will be allowed along North Port Blvd., Greenwood Ave., or Sam Shapos Way.

PARADE MEETING: There is a mandatory parade meeting on Thursday, December 3 at 7 p.m. at the Morgan Family Community Center. One (1) representative from each organization or business must be present at the meeting. Parade logistics, staging, and line-up will be presented and numbers distributed. The meeting can be attended virtually. More information on meeting date and time will be made available once the application is processed.

FEE: $30 (No charge for governmental entities, active US Military, and non-profits with 501(C)3 status)

Cancellation/No Show: Refunds cannot be issued; registration is non-transferrable.

Agreement/Waiver of Participation -- the organization and individuals involved agree to rules and regulations on page two and assume all risk, injury or damage to persons or property which may arise by virtue of the entrant's participation in the City of North Port's Poinsettia Parade. The undersigned, individually, and on behalf of all members, guest and participants hereby release and agree to hold harmless the City of North Port, the City's Parade Committee, staff and volunteers for any loss, damage or injury, which may occur during the course of this event.
