material + coloursThe workplace reinterpreted: Warm, natural materials and clear lines are integral features of timeless design. Light-coloured materials and comfortable fabrics in pleasant colours create an atmosphere of openness. Maple, ash, birch, beech and light oak in combination with felt, woollen felt, fl eece, twill and leather give a cosy feel. High-quality plastics and composites, e.g. melamine, MDF and coarse particle board, are also used. Metal elements made from aluminium, stainless steel and brass make an appearance here with matt anodised, powder coated and brushed metal fi nishes. The balanced colour palette underscores the overall expres -sion of homeliness. It ranges from natural sand, grey and brown hues to pigeon blue, sea green and dark rust red.
This calm, modern look has a clear, plain and relaxed feel. Gentle and understated materials provide the foundation for a natural sense of comfort and a harmonious mood. High-tech is present, but has moved into the background in favour of a plain, modern design. Offi ce furniture is clearly informed by contemporary furnishing solutions. Flexibility and mobility remain the most important require ments for the working environment. Sensitively designed spaces offer a good balance between commu -ni cation and privacy. With multifunctional partitions, cleverly hidden network connections, fl exible modular systems, intelligent workboxes and well-designed furni-ture, workplaces are able to adapt to very diverse usage requirements.
