- I can’t do it- Yes you can- No, I really can’t- And why on earth can’t you?- Because! There will be… thingys!- Thingys. And to which thingys do you refer?

- Thingys. Teambuilding - I’ve heard they make you pretend to be a big fat pony in front of dozens of people, and climb through Spiders webs, and…

- Look. Take that piece of paper. Do you know how to make a paper plane?

- No, but what’s that got to do wi…

- Listen. If I fold this paper in to a plane, it goes from being a normal blank piece of paper, to something capable of flying across the room

- Right...

- Bear with me. When you take that paper, fold it here and there, and it goes well, you’ve taken nothing and turned into something, something that makes you smile. If it goes wrong, ends up in someone’s eye, or the bin, well, you’ve wasted a piece of paper, and maybe blinded someone. Mother Nature and your victim might both shed a tear , but you’ve not really lost that much

- You going mad and talking about paper planes isn’t going to convince me to go

- Just do it. Glide through the air like a plane made of paper, and live a little

- You’re insane

- Maybe. But hey, I’m really good at making these planes

Once upon a time there was a gabber called Sjonnie,he had a lot of money, he spent it on tracksuits

and some very hardcore nike air max bootshe went to Rotterdam,

and saw some good looking officials, damnfirstly he did some teambuilding games,

and learned all the delegates names.

He said ‘honey tell me that you love me’and during coffee break he had a very nice weeduring coffee break he wanted to go to JUMBO,

but he couldn’t go, said Storm the HObecause not eating the orga’s lunch is very rude,

you should’ve have known that, dude.

Sjonnie spotted two women who where extremely feminine, yes, Marissa and Anna gave him adrenaline

he wanted to flirt with them instantlybut that wouldn’t be appropriate for chair-delegate symmetry

so he walked up to Rebecca and Christine, who worked together like a machine.

The day was almost over but there was one more task to complete, eurovillage, with amazing food, both savoury and sweet

Sjonnie ate enough for two, there was only one thing he could do

he passed out on his bed,and woke up the next morning to something the orgas said

‘Sjonnie wake up, let’s get going’and Sjonnie came out of bed, fast like a 747 Boeing

another day, another activity, keeping in mind that tonight there will be a hak-festivity

but first it was time for committee work all day, although he couldn’t wait for the soiree.

So let’s skip ahead to the party that night,Sjonnie was definitely in the spotlight

A Gabber Story

Page 11: Paper Planes

He was the best hakker of them all,he could hak all the way to the Chinese wall

But then Justin Bieber came on,and that wasn’t really cool for Sjon.

But the officials got cray cray,it was what Henok had been waiting for all day.

For Sjonnie it was time to sleep, because he has to discuss tomorrow - very deep

another day of committee work on sunday, everything in preparation for GA.

Sjonnie got the defence speech which is cool,he was bragging about it to other kids from his school

but during GA Sjonnie fell asleep, the stupid guy,and he had to say his speech bye-bye.

On monday night Sjonnie finally got home again, and he was extremely zen

He had the biggest PED everbut he was very very clever

to sign up for alumni weekend, where more time with EYP-ers could spend.

See you soon, gabber Sjonnie, tell me that you love me honey!

I would never ever be able to describe in one word why I like I EYP, something I forced some of you to do in front of a camera, concern-ing the session. To me, EYP means getting to know people from all over Europe with extreme motivation and dedication. Sharing mo-ments that you would never be able to have in daily life and becom-ing extremely close with people that you’ve just met. EYP is being sleep deprived yet working extremely hard to achieve your person-al goals whilst striving to accomplish something incredible together at the same time. At my own NSC I put a post-in on my Macbook’s dashboard (and it’s still there!) when my watch showed 5 AM on GA day because I had been preparing all that time. I didn’t get selected for an IS which disappointed me at the time. But since I’m in EYP, I’ve learned so much and I’m inviting you, our new alumni, to get on the plane with us and enjoy the EYP journey.

Love, Indra

Most of you have probably ventured into something completely new, unaware of what to anticipate. In fact, you might have even been scared. No matter what your experience has been like this week, I can assure you that you will return home a new person, with

fresh ideas and an exciting perspective of the future.

My friends, family and acquaintances always ask me about the European Youth Parliament: what we do, what we think, what we represent and I never quite know what to respond. I always try my hardest to formulate an illustrative answer, however words cannot characterize this organization to its full extent. In my eyes, it is the people that make EYP so unique and exceptional. In my past ses-sions, I have had the pleasure and privilege of meeting a myriad of individuals from all walks of life that have taught me a great deal and with whom I share some of my fondest memories. It is thanks to them that my mind has been stretched far beyond what I ever ex-pected. My horizons have expanded to new levels I never thought

possible.

Through my involvement in EYP, not only have I learnt about politics, economics, sociology and law, but I have also studied how to navi-gate within the institutional labyrinth that is the EU. Being in contact with people from all sorts of backgrounds and countries has also permitted me to delve into many cultures I had never been exposed to and challenge the stereotypes that are so heavily engrained in

our society.

As I mentioned it really is a difficult task to put the EYP into words, but it truly is the most flabbergasting experience one can have. It makes me incredibly happy to think that all of you have joined us, and together, we have lived through the astonishing rollercoaster

that has been Rotterdam 2015.
