10 More recent archive footage of when dad died, with mum looking at him on the same pillow. This is very emotive and powerful because of love even with death.

The background music stays at a constant pitch until Mum begins to look at Dad. The tempo then begins to pic up.

11 Switch between archive footage of me and dad, with a video of me and Georgia, a video of a christmas gathering with the family, and the Ice Bucket challenge. I did this to show how much I have done as a person, to all the things i’ve seen and done.

The background music is quite quiet because I wanted the audience to hear the sounds of my family life and also me pouring the bucket of freezing water over myself.

12 Show the rest of the christmas gathering part of the footage I chose. I decided to go with my uncle picking up his child by the feet - which would be considered insane. That is because my family is insane in a great way!

I kept the background music quite quiet because I want the audience to hear the sounds of the christmas gathering. Everyone there was very at piece and relaxed. I wanted to give everyone the impression my family is like that.

13 It now cuts out to me and my mother hugging. I brought in this modern footage piece because it is emotive and we both look very happy. That shows the journey i’ve been on and how I can actually hug my mother and me not react badly to it.

The music changes from a more uplifting tune to a big suspense on what the music is going to sound like afterwards. The dreary tone of the strings being played up to where the music stops increases the tenseness of the wait for the DISCOVERY subtitles.

14 The subtitles are overlaid to pinpoint my face in between the writing to push emphasis on the time period of where Dad was about to die. The dark shading disappears and the whole image goes from just being me to being a shocking image of my father with his massive tumor on the side of his neck.

The single chord phase begins where the music adds more emotion to the image. By making the music cut to a singular stringing, it adds more impact with every beat that goes by in correspondence to the image.

15 The next four pieces of archive footage of me and my father playing a computer game, me with a dressing gown and a toy guitar, me dressed up like Harry Potter and in the bathtub all show what sort of childhood I had.

It starts off with the happy, uplifting music picking up in the volume, to a normal level, while my mother asks me if ‘I’m a lucky boy’. The reason why this is important is because it relates to my life - i’ve been incredibly lucky to have been given a second chance.

16 Back to the modern footage of me in the restaurant. I cut the clip to the part where the camera is handed to my girlfriend to create the effect of surprise of how far i’ve come.

I turn down the level of the music while my voiceover of talking about how i’m getting better every day thanks to their efforts. I did this so I could show the full footage instead of the subtitles to almost show the full transformation.

17 Footage of me and my dog George pawing my head.

The background music is playing at a steady rate and is not getting any louder. You can hear my mother laughing as George paws my head.

18 Archive footage of me and Jamie indoor skydiving. The first clip was when I had first started doing the more complicated stuff and was trying to do a front flip, and didn’t know how to go upside down

The pitch of the music begins to get louder.

19 Archive footage of me and Jamie indoor skydiving. The second clip is of me achieving going upside down after practicing it constantly. I had to learn how to work in a team to be able to achieve many of the things I learnt.

The music reaches its highest pitch which goes together with achieving head-down.

20 Archive footage of me getting ready to do a tandem skydive. I put these clips in to build up to the jump.

The build up in the upbeat music begins just like the video does to the jump. You can hear the camera man telling me to enjoy the experience. This is good because it is a message for people to let go and have fun.

21 I jump out of the plane with the instructor. I put in a film burn effect on top of the clip to enhance the amount of colour in the picture while also colour dodging the text which made the text fit in with the colour of the film burn.

The upbeat music reaches the drop as soon as I jump out of the plane. This is because it hypes you up to want to do something that gives you an adrenaline rush. I also included some of background noise but to the point where it wasn’t overwhelming. It fits in with the tempo of the music.

22 I did a rewind cut to archive footage of me dressed as an angel. The rewind cut works well because it gives the documentary a feel as if you’re rewinding my archive footage I found.

Uplifting music begins as soon as the rewind cut finishes. The beat is constant and you can hear clapping from the audience of the play.

23 In this shot, I took video of the November Fireworks and added an overlay to the text. This means the text would light up when the fireworks exploded.

Uplifting music and fireworks begin. You can hear the bangs of the fireworks. The reason I kept this in is because it ends the film on an uplifting and inspiring manner.

24 At the end of the credits, I put a family picture of me, my mother and my father.

The music enters the single chord phase and makes the picture hold much more weight.
