Panic Room (9 Frame Analysis) At 0.17 the production company logo of Columbia is revealed, filling the full of the frame. This slowly fades out to a black screen before quickly fading into the title sequence. The title sequence is a series of short elliptical edits with the names of those involved in the movie. Throughout the whole sequence the same, instrumental music is playing. The music, string instrumental, is medium paced to match the pace of editing in the sequence My second shot shows the first of the different shots to come, identifying the production company again at 0.24. The titles are shown in capital letters for a clearer title against the busy background. Throughout all of the shots and title sequence the same font is used in capital letters for continuity, making it easier to find the titles n amongst the background. The colour of the font is the same but the change of the background and the colour of the buildings make the font clear, but then barely visible as it changes. At 0.45 the shot changes to reveal Jared Leto’s name against a big building with lots of windows. This is an example of a tracking shot where the subject stays in the same position but the camera moves around the subject.

Panic Room (9 Frame Analysis)

At 0.17 the production company logo of Columbia is revealed, filling the full of the frame. This slowly fades out to a black screen before quickly fading into the title sequence. The title sequence is a series of short elliptical edits with the names of those involved in the movie. Throughout the whole sequence the same, instrumental music is playing. The music, string instrumental, is medium paced to match the pace of editing in the sequence

My second shot shows the first of the different shots to come, identifying the production company again at 0.24.

The title is contrasting against the building and is positioned so it follows the structure of the building.

My forth shot shows the main title of the sequence, the title of the movie, Panic Room. This is the biggest of all of the titles because it is so important. It is positioned in the very center of the frame and is framed by the skyscrapers. A slow pan to the right is used to reveal the entire text.

The next shot at 1.01 shows the main square of New York with the title again following the structure of the main building. This is a still shot in the way that there is no pan or track like some of the other shots however it is not a still because things are still happening in the background.

This next shot at 1.09 is a high angle shot looking down on the title. The title is contrasting to the building like the others and following the lines in the building.

This is a common way to present the titles so they fit in with the establishing shots.

This shot, at 1.28, is another high angle shot looking down on the title. The title is again contrasting with the building. The title is positioned in the middle of the fame and the camera tracks down, as opposed to around like in the third shot.

The next shot, at 1.34, is one of the biggest titles with a list of producers. Because there is a list of names, the background cannot be too busy or the names would get lost within the background. The titles do not get lost and easily identified against the big golden building.

The last shot is the title of the director. This is the most important of all of the names so is saved until the last shot. The title is in amongst one of the most famous parks in the world, Central Park. This is an iconic image for America and the director is an icon to the movie industry.
