EconomyHigh machine run-time of the machining center is a basic prerequisite for cost-efficient production. Hand-loaded or semi-automatic machines only meet this requirement to a limited extent. With the Liebherr PHS Allround pallet handling system, unproductive downtime, unoccupied shifts, breaks and weekends can be utilized. This allows spindle run-times of over 90 % to be achieved. In addition, the need for personnel can be reduced to unmanned shifts, so that the investment can be amortized within a shorter time.

FlexibilityThanks to the modular design concept, the PHS Allround can be combined as needed and expanded at any time. Numerous set-up stations (for example, rotating / tilting / portable) are available from the Liebherr platform. The front, face or rear arrangement of the machines, set-up stations and rotary storage towers offers maximum flexibility in layout design. Due to the low overall height, the system can also be used in existing halls with low ceiling heights.

User friendlinessThe user-friendly control system digitizes the production pro-cesses from dynamic fine planning and order management to fully automated workpiece and resource management. In the basic version, NC program and tool management remain on the machine; cell control performs the pallet management including order planning. The operators continue to work in their known machine environment. Short start-up times, high acceptance and rapid production start-up are the result. Networking is not just another production step, rather, it optimizes the entire value chain, which makes self-organized production possible. With the decoupling of the cycle demands of the machine and the operator activity, the staff workload is reduced and the quality of work is improved.

In the field of pallet handling systems, Liebherr offers the PHS Allround as a supplement to the linear PHS PRO and the RLS rotary loading system. With a footprint approximately 20 % smaller than the PHS PRO and greater flexibility compared to the RLS, the PHS Allround is the perfect fit for the existing product portfolio.

The Liebherr PHS Allround pallet handling system allows a large group of users to enter the world of flexible production in combination with 4- and 5-axis machining centers. The mod-ular concept in three weight classes for loads of up to three tons is extremely flexible and can be individually configured and expanded. Using the front sides of the system as an interface for machines, setup stations or other units provides flexibility in layout design. Due to the compact design with optimum space utilization and the low overall height, this system is particularly suitable for use in existing halls with low ceiling heights. Optionally configurable additional functions such as double loader and front access set new standards in this segment.

Modular component systemThe modular system is highly flexible, individually configu-rable and expandable. High flexibility, manageable costs and short delivery times are the result. The PHS Allround modular system consists of the following elements:• Shelf module• Setup module• Lift module as single or double loader• Machine-specific fork (pallet holder)• Optional: rotary storage tower• Optional: front access

Future-proofWhen work loads change in the future, the PHS Allround is prepared. The addition of rotary storage towers in exchange for existing shelf modules offers the possibility of significantly increasing the storage capacity in limited space. The entire system can be flexibly expanded in 1-meter increments. Thus, additional machines and / or set-up stations can be integrated into the system at any time.

Front accessThe optionally available front access offers the possibility of decoupling individual machines from the system while the remaining machines continue to produce without restriction in automatic mode. As a result, continuous production can be ensured even during malfunctions or service and mainte-nance work on individual machines.

User friendliness

Control systemThe control system is the crucial link between the operator, the automation and the connected machines and devices. Intuitive operation reduces the training effort. Since the software uses client / server technology, all functions and operator actions can be conveniently carried out on any PC connected to the network. This increases the ease of use considerably and all information is available to all employees at any time.

Basic system and extensionsThe basic system contains all the necessary functions for a quick entry into an automated production plant. Building upon this and depending on the application requirements, different, function-oriented modules are available. The user can individually assemble the standardized modules. With the help of intelligent, digitally-networked control sys-tems, largely self-organized production becomes possible. From dynamic detailed scheduling and order management to fully automated workpiece and resource management, Liebherr offers the integrated software product range as an entry into the world of digital production control.

The holistic evaluation of the production processes opens up previously hidden optimization potential. Transparent production processes, lean order throughput, trouble-free

resource management, automated production processes and guaranteed quality are features of production systems with Liebherr pallet handling systems.

In addition to pallet management, the user-friendly cell control technology can be expanded by adding useful additional functions such as time-controlled order planning, productivity statistics, NC program, tool and fixture manage-ment. The software can be integrated into existing software systems such as ERP or CAM / tool management systems.

us to dispatch a service engineer to the customer location immediately if necessary. Due to the consistent modular principle of the products and the use of basic components of well-known, worldwide available manufac-turers, a rapid supply of spare parts is guaranteed. Original spare parts are available in the branches for delivery to your production facility within a very short time. Included in the services offered are the provision of spare parts, inspections, maintenance or modifica-tions to systems.

In addition, we offer our customers optional "wellness checks" to mini-mize risk of machine downtime and ensure long-term system availability. Axles, gearboxes, cables, guideways, carriages as well as cables and hoses are checked and replaced if necessary. During every service and maintenance operation, the system data is backed up to restore the status of the last maintenance, if necessary, and thus to ensure rapid resumption of production.
