GC University

-GC University is an abbreviation of Governament College University.

-It opened on 1 Jenuary1864.

-on 9 September 2002 it became an university.

Hanif Kureishi-He was born in 5 December 1954.

-His father came from Pakistan but his mother came from England.

-In 2008 The Times included him in their list of “The greatest British writers since 1945”.

-In the 1972 he was elected has student union president.

The works

-In 1985 he wrote My beautiful Laundrette (for this he was candidated for the Oscar).

-In 1991 he had directed the film “London kills me”

-In 1990 he wrote the famous book “IL Budda delle periferie”.

-In 1998 he wrote a novel “Intimacy”.

-Than in 2000/2001 the novel Was adapted to a movie.

The Family

-His family accused him of exploiting them with thinly references of his work. -His sister Yasmin has accused him of selling their family “down the line”.

-The father was angry when he wrote the book “The Buddha of Subrbia”.

His prizes -In 1980 he won the price “Thames Playwright Award”.

-In May 2011 he was awarded the second Asia House Literature Award.

-In 2013 he won the Achivement in the Arts at The Asian Award. -In 2010 he won PEN/Pinter Prize.
