to a small town in South Carolina where herhusband attended college. He husband heldmany interesting jobs, including a pastor, aprinter, and even an engineer at a local Chris-tian radio station. Three years later, the familymoved back to Michigan in Saline. Norma Jeanworked in payroll for a small construction com-pany until her son was born a few years later.His name was Paul. Ten years later, their daugh-ter, Linda was born. Their family loved to travel,and often went camping along the East Coast.Norma & Blair were married for 60 wonderfulyears. Today Norma has four grandchildren andtwo great-grandchildren.

For fun, Norma enjoys spending time withher family, watching old movies, and reading.Her favorite novel genre is mystery. Norma’s fa-vorite meal is homemade pot roast with a side ofvegetables and mashed potatoes. Her favorite

dessert is anything choco-laty and she also loves icecream—chocolate ofcourse. At Linden Square,Norma enjoys visiting withher friend and fellow resi-dent, Elsie. She enjoys per-formances by our musicentertainers. We are hon-ored to have Norma Jean asour Resident Spotlight. Sheis sweet and funny. Hersmile lights up a room. Welook forward to manymore memories with her!

Norma Jean W.

Norma Jean W. was born on December 5thin Chariton, Iowa to loving parents Laurel andMildred. Norma Jean was an only child andspent a lot of time with her family. Her firstchildhood home was small, nestled on her fa-ther’s farm. Norma Jean remembers her mothermaking every home of theirs feel warm and cozyand would often spend many evenings with hermother learning to sew and cook. Norma Jean’smother was an excellent seamstress and de-signed beautiful dresses for her to wear toschool. Her father was also a kind, generousman who worked hard during The Great De-pression to provide for his family.

When Norma Jean was seven, she and herfamily uprooted and moved to MountClemens, Michigan. Her father then worked onthe factory line at Ford Motor Company whileher mother stayed home to care for Norma Jeanand maintain their home.At school, Norma Jean hadmany friends and lovedmusic. She was in theschool orchestra andplayed the violin. Duringhigh school, Norma Jeanmet her husband Blair ather local church where thetwo fell in love. A year aftergraduating high school in1948, the two had a lovelyceremony in her parents’home where they married.

chose a career in Computer Programming/SoftwareEngineer because he enjoys building software pro-grams. He began building websites in sixth grade.He has now moved on to building apps for hisphone. His first job is as Culinary Aide at LindenSquare.

Nick currently lives in Tecumseh. He has twodogs. Skye is a fourteen year old Lab/Visla mix. Sheis the smartest dog and loves to swim. She has tobe the first in the pool every season and the last outof the pool at the end of the season. Luna is a threeyear old Shiba Inu. She loves people so much thatshe squeals like she is in terrible pain when shemeets someone new. She has to be kept away fromany animals because she will attack them. Shethinks the world and everything in it belong only toher. Nick has two cats, Kitty and Kitten.

Making apps and movies are Nick’s hobbieswhen he isn’t busy working or doing school work.His favorite genre is Thrillers. His favorite moviesare District 9, Enemy, and Prisoners. If he could go

anywhere in the world on avacation, he would go some-where warm. His favoritemeal is lasagna. His favoriterestaurant is Outback. His fa-vorite dessert is cheesecake.

Nick enjoys working atLinden Square because helikes the residents and his fel-low coworkers. We are hon-ored to have Nick as ourLinden Leader for March. Heis a hard worker, reliable, andcares for the residents. Thankyou for being a great Culi-nary Aide, Nick! We lookforward to making morememories with you.

Nicholas John G. – Culinary Aide

Nicholas John G. was born on September 15 inHowell, MI to parents Chris and Debbie. He hastwo brothers, Jordan and Jacob, and one sister,Hannah. Nick lived the first four years of his life inWhitmore Lake. The family then moved to Tecum-seh. He enjoyed playing outside in the creek and inthe woods. He was consumed by soccer during hiselementary school years and would practice in thebackyard every day of nice weather.

His father, Chris, is a Heavy Equipment Oper-ator for a company that does industrial cleaning forrefineries, automobile factories, and power compa-nies. His mother, Debbie, is the Life EnrichmentCoordinator at Linden Square. His older brotherlives in Ann Arbor and is a Software Engineer forDuo Security. His sister, Hannah, lives in Tecumsehand is a Registration Coordinator at CommunityPsychiatry in Adrian. She will make Nick an unclein June. His youngest brother, Jacob, is in 11thgrade.

Nick attended Patterson Elementary where heplayed soccer and LittleLeague baseball. He playedbasketball during his years atTecumseh Middle Schoolwhere he was also inductedinto the TMS Hall of Famefor excelling in academic per-formance. He graduatedfrom Tecumseh High Schoolin May of 2019.

He is currently in his sec-ond year at WashtenawCommunity College. He willtransfer to Eastern Universitythis fall. His target gradua-tion date is in 2021. His de-gree will be a Bachelors inComputer Science. Nick

Spring Begins March 20

Dear Residents, Families and Friends,

Can you believe it? We are already a quarter into2019 and eagerly awaiting Spring. With all the snow, iceand the cold temperatures we have had, it will be niceto see the sun again and feel the warmth. Join me in be-ginning the countdown for the first day of Spring onTuesday, March 20, 2019. Wahooo! And with a new sea-son, comes new activities and events at Linden Square.Be sure to check out our calendar for St Patrick’s Day fes-tivities, as well as our new regularly scheduled GEMSFamily Night (for those families working through cog-nitive changes in their loved ones Dementia orAlzheimer’s) just to list a couple.

As always, I’ll look forward to seeing and chattingwith all of you. My door is always open!
