Fifteen people died in 11 separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012. Eleven of the victims were traveling in motor vehicles and six were not wearing seat belts. Through Sept. 30, prelimi- nary statistics indicate that 543 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012. This is six more than re- ported for this time period in 2011. A total of 95 fatalities this year have resulted from crashes involving the suspected use of alcohol.

David Watts, 67, of Har-rodsburg, died We d n e s d a y, Sept. 26, 2012

at The James B. Haggin Memo-rial Hospital.

Born March 8, 1945 in Har-rodsburg, he was the son of the

late Lebus J. and Hazel Harlow Watts. He was a retired operator for Kentucky Utilities, served in the United States Air Force dur-ing the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Burgin Christian Church.

He is survived by a son, Christopher (Susan) Watts of Harrodsburg; two daughters, Lisa Hartman of Harrodsburg and Megan Watts of Lexington; two brothers, Stanley R. Watts and Earl (Anna) Watts, both of Harrodsburg; one sister, Jea-netta Lane of Harrodsburg and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with Doug Wesley offici-ating. Burial was in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Gary Kirk-land, Jim McMurtrie, Bill Gas-per, Andrew Ashford, Daniel Moore, John Lyons, Ethan Ash-ford, Jim Ashford, Tyler Kirk-land and David Kirkland. Hon-orary pallbearers were Tony Hatfield, Michael Vaugh and Robert Shewmaker.

Fifteen people died in 11 separate crashes on Kentucky’s roadways from Monday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.

Eleven of the victims were traveling in motor vehicles and six were not wearing seat belts.

Through Sept. 30, prelimi-nary statistics indicate that 543 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2012. This is six more than re-ported for this time period in 2011. A total of 95 fatalities this year have resulted from crashes involving the suspected use of alcohol.
