VISIONArizona Health-e Connection is the international model for facilitation of Health Information Infrastructure development and Implementation.
MISSIONTo facilitate the design and implementation of integrated statewide Health Information Technology and Health Information Exchange that supports the information needs of all healthcare stakeholders to reduce healthcare costs, improve patient safety, and improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare and public health in Arizona.

• Arizona submitted letter of intent to Office of National Coordinator (ONC) on September 11th
• Specified partnership with AzHeC• State HIT Coordinator to be named• ONC now to make allocations to states
– $564 million available for distribution ($4 and $40 per award)
• Full applications due October 16th • Awards made mid-December

HIT Regional Extension Centers
• General program information– Applicants must be US-based non-profit– Provision of education, technical and change management
assistance to providers– Prioritized assistance to 4 groups of primary care providers
• Funding announcement released August 20th – 3 proposal/award cycles throughout FFY2010– 1st cycle: preliminary application due September 8th, full
proposal (if requested) due November 3rd– $598 million allocated, approximately 70 awards total– Preference given to multi-stakeholder collaborations
