Academic
The Academic Summer School is aimed at international
students who wish to improve their English, whilst following
a traditional programme of academic subjects.
Class sizes are small, with a maximum class size of 12 for
English and academic subjects. Lessons take place in the
College’s classroom block, offering a range of facilities in a
modern learning environment.
The timetable comprises 30 hours of academic tuition and 5
hours of supervised prep and a Group Multimedia Project.
Students also benefit from weekly tutorials.
Each student is assessed in English during the admissions
process, with this Initial Assessment highlighting their CEFR
Level. At the end of the course, all students receive a
summary Academic Report, detailing their progress in
English, academic subjects, sports and boarding. Students
are also presented with a Course Certificate referencing
their CEFR Level.

places of cultural, geographical and historical interest;
others encourage students to sample the great

physical pursuits.
Sightseeing, cultural visits and even shopping provide
contexts within which speaking and listening skills are
put to the test; they are also great fun and provide
memories to last a lifetime.
Weekend trips may include London sightseeing,
excursions to the nearby cities of Oxford and
Reading, trips to the zoo, laser quest, theme parks,
