Pacifica Pride Week 2

Pacifica High School has been hosting

Adopt A Child for over 25 years!

This year we will held our event on Wednesday, December 14th

This amazing program pairs our seniors with less fortunate Pre-K and Kindergarteners for a morning filled with holiday fun!

This year we will host over 300 kindergarten students from Woodbury, Riverdale, Eisenhower, and Lawrence.

The senior class, clubs, and ASB students transform our gym to a Santa's Village that includes gifts from "wish lists," crafts, cookie decorating, visits with Santa, and so much more.

The Stock Market Game in Mrs. Ross’ class is held every semester in Economics. It's a 10 week game designed to introduce students to stock trading and personal finance concepts. Each team is given $100,000 to spend during the 10 week simulation. The game ended last week and the photo above is of our 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners. We celebrated with a Supermex luncheon with the top 10 teams in attendance. The top 3 teams concluded the game with the following returns: Tyler Long - $143,332 Adam Crook - $140,213 James Deras & Travis Martin - $130,331. Their best investment companies were American Steel & Boeing.

Big things are happening for the Class of 2019

Sophomore Parent Night

Tuesday, January 24th

6pm, cafeteria

The month of January will be busy for the class of 2019. Joann Le,

10th grade counselor, and Ms. Bartlett, 10th grade AP will be

presenting to all sophomores the College and Career Readiness

units. Through the month of January they will be meeting with

students in World History classes, providing information on college

entrance requirements, creating a College Board student account,

and returning PSAT tests and scores to those who took it back in

October.

Information from the College & Career Units & PSAT Results --What

Now?-- will be shared at Sophomore Parent Night.

We invite you to join the sophomore team on Tuesday, January 24th

at 6pm in the cafeteria. Parents are encouraged to bring their

student’s PSAT results for reference. Students are welcome to

attend.

SAT & ACT Prep classes are being offered by the Princeton

Review at Pacifica High School. These prep classes will prepare

students to be ready to take the SAT in March and ACT in April.

A Princeton Review representative has visited all juniors in

their English classes on 12/15/16 to pass out the SAT Prep class

and ACT Prep class flyer. Additionally, students can get a flyer

at the guidance office or bookstore. The last day to sign-up for

the SAT Prep Class is Tuesday, January 17th and the last day to

sign-up for the ACT Prep Class is Friday, February 10th. The cost

for each Princeton Review Prep class is $50. Class availability is

subject to change based on enrollment. Make sure to sign-up

early!

Boys’ Basketball Our varsity boys’ basketball team went 4-2 over Christmas break. Varsity's overall record is 12-3. JV's overall record is 3-3. Frosh's overall record is 4-2.
