#Wetin Una Dey Do Sef? Ever been utterly clueless about what a department does or how your other colleagues contribute to the business? This column will visit the desk of your col- leagues from the boardroom to the gatepost to tell you what they do from day to day so as to give all of us an appreciation for each others role, an under- standing of the work pressures each one faces and ultimately improve our working relationships. So expect us at your desk, we’re coming for you next! What role does your department play in the business and what role do you play in helping the department support the business? Mr Abiodun Bamidele: The IBD is saddled with responsibilities of selling the services offered Phase 3 to its clients, no need to mention all the services that were recently listed in the services portfolio of the com- pany. The Dept. always represent the organisa- tions at both local and international work- shops and conferences. Apart from sales activities, the dept also handles marketing schedules that are relevant for the opera- tions of the company. As the head of department I oversee the day to day running of the activities of the section of the company. I also guide the staff in the Int’l business department and others in the act of selling of telecommuni- cations services. What do you love about what you do? I love that I am in the telecommunications industry at the time when the industry is witnessing tremendous growths in Nigeria, which is helping every facet economy to grow which in turn improves the country’s overall GDP. I am glad that Phase 3 has played a major role in the industry’s developments; I have been part of Phase 3 Telecom, part of the success. What is the most misunderstood thing about your role? What do you love about what you do?

UPDATES We have come to the end of the 3rd quarter, tilting to-wards that same end of year where we have to wait for another year to begin. “What have I really achieved this year?”, you may ask. Others may say, “We have not done badly”. Whichever may be your case, what is important is how you can maximize the remaining part of the year for a more fulfilling ending. It is possible to hit that target if you intensify efforts to get the results you desired from the beginning of the year. Be resolute with a can-do men-tality, and I know you can. Much is being done by top management to make the necessary resources avail-able for us to deliver on our objectives. The manufactur-ing of additional 500km of fiber and accessories is be-ing completed as shipment commences next week. Movement to site for BTrain project is being mobilized and we see the project kick-ing off within the next couple of weeks. The funding of an Operations Account is an effort to shorten payment times for very urgent and critical issues to optimize our productivity. What role does your department play in the business and what role do you play in help-ing the department support the business? Imoukhuede: We’re saddled with the task to improve revenue, increase our business clien-tele and manage international businesses through the sales of IP/MPLS, IPLC and other businesses of the company. I work well with the team to achieve our ob-jectives, assist with all job functions that pro-mote sales and win businesses (customer management, marketing of business & ser-vices, proposal & tender response, quotation, lead creation, follow up with prospects, im-prove on internal process, develop & im-prove on sales activities approach, market survey and research amongst others)

What do you love about what you do? The learning curve and challenges it presents along with the opportunity to meet people and educate them about our business strategy and services What is the most misunderstood thing about your role? Thinking that we’re not working hard enough to win sales in this year of elec-tion and transition/change of government

What 5 things do we not know about you? I am a computer science graduate, I am married to my beautiful friend of over 15years from Awka in Anambra State (once my music student) Out of office friends calls me PAPPY I love & play the trumpet and I love good food…with a nice presentation

What 5 things do we not know about you? Mr Abiodun Bamidele Cont’d: 1. I am a very social person, the president of a very active social club in my

town. 2. The president of WSJF cooperative society in Abuja, a very vibrant

cooperative society 3. I have been party of different groups that wrote about topical national

topics/issue about our country, particularly on broadband developments in Nigeria for NCC.

4. In all aspect of life, I always embrace competition and I thrive well in it, it makes excel very well in sports and academic performances while in school.

Manage the Sales Process within the defined company procedures b. bid stages, contract signing and post sale client satisfaction follow up, to ensure the clients requirements and expectations are managed and met which involves liaising with other relevant departments, That is, Engineering, Legal and finance ins sales process completion c. Developing new accounts by cold calling and networking What do you love about what you do? I love meeting people and hunting for revenue What is the most misunderstood thing about your role? Colleagues should appreciate that our services are not like recharge card sales that are demanded everyday but our particular service appeals to a segment of the market and it might take a bit of time to convert to sales. What do we not know about you? I’ve done a charity marathon and ran a thousand miles I made my first million in my teens I love to play soccer

What role does your department play in the business and what role do you play in helping the department support the business? Olatayo: My department enables the business expand its market coverage through selling of its solutions to old and new customers. It monitors the market territory and reports on trends and changes as the market evolves. My role is to sell our services and solutions and provide feedback based on my sales activity which enables the business in its strategies.

What do you love about what you do? I love enhancing the lifestyle of my clients through service delivery. What is the most misunderstood thing about your role? Unfair assumptions that the sales team aren’t doing their due diligence, yet our coverage is limited in certain locations. What things do we not know about you? I like combat games on ps4.....

Busola: We are basically into marketing and sales of phase3Telecom products.

What do you love about what you do? It gives me experience of the outer world,
