Shandaken Choir Wore New Robes on Simday Shandaken, ^pril'2.—^The inter- mediate choir of the Methodist chiu^ wore their new robes for the first time on Palm Sunday. The children made a fine appear- ance. The new robes were made possible by the senior choir, who purdiased the material, by Mrs. Robert Ford, Mrs. J. E. Miss Shultis ha§ been an active participant in the extracurricular program at Onteora, being a memljer of stu- dent council, outing dub, journal- ism dub, leaders’ dub, tennis dub, marshal squad and band. Girls’ state is held at the State University Teachers college, New Paltz. Ffll At Airport, Suffered Broken Hip Fleischmanns, April 1. — Mrs. Claire Kahl of Cypress Hills had the misfortune to suffer a frac- tured hip in a fall at the airport on Sunday of last week. Mrs. Kahl, vrfio is 94 years of age, was returning home after spending the winter in Florida. She is a patient at the Lutheran hospital in :6rooklyn. She will be ho^ital- ized indefinitely. Choir Wore New Robes on Simday

Shandaken, ^pril'2.— The inter­mediate choir of the Methodist chiu^ wore their new robes for the first time on Palm Sunday. The children made a fine appear­ance. The new robes were made possible by the senior choir, who purdiased the material, by Mrs. Robert Ford, Mrs. J. E. Smithers and Mrs. Ned Kelly, who made the robes; by the WSCS and Mrs. Meredith, who gave the 12 collars.

Solo parts in the intermediate choir were taken by Mildred Mer- win and Diana Mimdi. Mrs. C Buley of the senior choir sang “Open the Gates the Temple.

They have received a donation of costumes worth several thous­ands dollars, also some costly scenery. They have also acquired spedal lighting effects.

Miss Shultis ha§ been an active participant in the extracurricular program at Onteora, being a memljer of stu­dent council, outing dub, journal­ism dub, leaders’ dub, tennis dub, marshal squad and band. She is also a member of the Onteora chapter of the National Honor sodety.

Doris Muhlich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Muhlich, Phoe­nida, has been elected as the‘al­ternate. Girls’ state is held at the State University Teachers college, New Paltz.

Onteora’s nominees for this pro­gram were chosen by the faculty emd administration and were se­lected on the beisis of scholarship, leadership and sportsnumship. The l^rls in this program partidpate in a model state, wherein they share the duties, responsibilities and privileges of American dtizen- ship. They elect their own offi- dals in accordance with New York law. Every g^l has an ac­tive part in some phase of state or dty government.
