• Basic technical knowledge with regard to Geology and Rock Mechanics will be advantageous
Duties and responsibilities:The successful candidate will be expected to:• Read and interpret the Business Plan and
allocate resources accordingly• Plan production targets and ensure measures
to achieve production targets• Receive and convey instructions from Shaft
Management on work priorities• Supervise crew responsible for installation and
maintenance in designated area underground• Plan, organise, lead and control activities in
the mining operations process• Coordinate drilling and blasting operations• Mark shot and pilot holes for primary and
secondary blasting in an underground working place
• Treat and remove misfires and charge shot holes with primed explosives
• Support an underground working place by means of anchors placed into drilled holes, elongated support units that are hydraulic stressed and packs
• Transport material and equipment by means of a mono rope system
• Conduct on-the-job coaching
