Oxford College has a simple process to help prospective students enroll into one of our programs.

Although our programs accommodate for multiple start dates, they are in high demand and fill up quickly. Therefore, to avoid any delay of being put onto a wait list, we recommend that appli-cants begin the application process as soon as possible.

WsiB funding:If you are injured in an accident or develop medical problems due to work, you may qualify for Workplace safety and insurance board funding which can be used to fi-nance your education.

lifelOng leArning plAn:This plan is flexible! The Lifelong Learning Plan allows individuals to withdraw funds from their Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) to use toward paying for education; these funds may also be used toward paying for training or education of a spouse or common-law partner. An added benefit is that you do not have to include the withdrawn amount(s) in your income, and the RRSP issuer will not withhold tax on these amounts; additionally you have up to 10 years to repay these withdrawals to your RRSPs.

self funding OptiOn:Our monthly tuition fee payment plan helps our students to self-fund their educa-tion without interest. Our Financial Aid Officers are happy to provide more infor-mation regarding this payment option.

registered eduCAtiOn sAvings plAn (resp):An RESP is an Education Savings Plan registered under Canadas Income Tax Act which was established for the purpose of providing financial assistance to a Bene-ficiary (usually a child) when he or she pursues a post-secondary education; invest-ment earnings on savings within an RESP are tax-sheltered until the child is ready for post-secondary education; the earnings are taxed in the hands of the student who typically pays little to no tax; in addition, RESPs may qualify for various govern-ment incentives that help parents, relatives and friends save for a child’s post-sec-ondary education.

Success StoryDental Hygiene

DiplomaSchool of Health Sciences

4 semesters

Our 18-month program will train you in a num-ber of disciplines which include: assessing the needs of dental hygiene clients, the planning, implementation and evaluation of oral disease prevention and the promotion of overall oral health care.

The curriculum provides courses in dental, clin-ical and behavioral sciences. In addition, stu-dents will gain 450+ hours of hands-on practical training by serving clients in our public dental hy-giene clinic.

The In-tra-Oral Dental Assistant program trains students to assist dentists during the examination and treatment of dental patients. Additionally, grad-uates will be capable of performing a variety of office and laboratory duties. Intra-Oral Dental As-sistants are in high demand within the dental and medical fields, but they can work in many differ-ent fields like insurance companies, dental com-panies, public health, universities and many more. In recent years there has been immense growth in this industry.

In less than a year you may begin a rewarding career in shaping the lives of children and mak-ing a real difference. With more than half of all mothers with preschool-age children working outside the home, there is substantial demand for high quality childcare providers.

Employment opportunities exist in child-care cen-tres, kindergarten classrooms, nursery schools, agencies for exceptional children and other en-vironments where early childcare education ser-vices are provided. You also have the option to be self-employed. Early Childcare Assistants pro-vide care and guidance to preschool children un-der the supervision of Early Childhood Educators, and lead children in activities which help them stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth.

Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance/Quality Control Technologist

DiplomaSchool of Pharmaceutical Sciences

50 Weeks

As a Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Technologist you will work in all areas of drug manufacturing from start to finish. Pharmaceutical QA/QC Technologists are main-ly employed within the pharmaceutical industry; their training however, allows them the option of working in a variety of other positions which include: Quality Control Technician, Laboratory Technician, HPLC Analyst, etc. They can also find employment in several other industries including; Biotechnology, Food Processing, Breweries, Cos-metics and Herbal Medicine.

Our one year program provides students with a solid understanding of various pharmaceutical manufacturing processes as well as the phar-maceutical quality control systems and tools. Students will be trained to complete technical reports and ensure that the safety standards of the industry are being met.
