ANNUAL MEETING OF MEMBERS POSTPONED

Northeast Missouri Rural Telephone Company (NEMR) will bring upgraded fiber-to-the-premise broadband service with speeds up to symmetrical 100 Mbps to the town of Yarrow and the neighboring community of Spring Lake with the assistance of a $354,921 Missouri broadband grant. Sixteen grants were awarded across the state of Missouri that will provide internet service to more than 4,400 homes, businesses, and farms that lack access to high-speed internet. "We are pleased to be able to bring high-speed fiber internet to these grow-ing communities," said Michele Gillespie, NEMR General Manager. NEMR hopes to begin the mainline construction sometime this year.

A THANK YOU TO OUR EMPLOYEES

The Covid-19 pandemic has affected all of our lives but has not stopped our employ-ees from performing to the best of their abilities. NEMR Telecom's management and Board of Directors made some quick decisions in early April to protect our em-ployees and customers. The front office was closed, the technicians entered homes only if necessary while wearing protective gear, and most of our office staff was setup to work from home. While some customers have lost jobs, been layed off, or are able to work from home, others like NEMR employees are called "Essential." A big thank you to our NEMR Team and all of the "Essential" employees in our service areas.

NEMR's Kyle Rogers from the Novinger ex-change is putting on his gloves before entering a customers home during Covid-19 pandemic.
