OWL BABIES 1. Once upon a time there were not one, not two but three baby owls who lived in a tree trunk house with their owl mother. The hole had twigs, leaves and owl feathers in it. 2. Late one night they woke up and their owl mother was GONE! “Where’s mummy?” asked Sarah. “Oh my goodness!” said Percy. “I want my mummy!” said Bill. The owl babies were worried. 3. The owl babies came out of their tree house and sat on the branches. A great big branch for Sarah, a small branch for Percy and a teeny weeny branch for Bill. “I want my mummy!” said Bill. 4. It was dark in the woods and they had to be brave. For things moved all around them. “I want my mummy!” said Bill. 5. The owl babies thought and thought and thought. They all huddled together. “I want my mummy!” said Bill. 6. The owl babies closed their owl eyes and they wished and they wished and they wished their owl mother would come. AND SHE CAME! Swooping through the trees to Sarah, Percy and Bill . 7. “Mummy!” they cried and they flapped and they danced and they bounced up and down on their branch. “WHAT’S ALL THE FUSS?” said their Owl Mother. You knew I’d come back!” 8. The owl babies thought and thought and thought. “I knew it!“ said Sarah. “And I knew it!” said Percy.
