a bit about us !

Sploosh is a fun loving feelgood combination of clubnights and live music event. Created as part of the Popular Music and Record Production degree at Southampton Solent University it has since expanded and become a regular event which aims to provide interactive fun entertainment.

The first event was held at the Students Union at Solent University.It combined live music with candy floss, jugglers and side show games, It combined live music with candy floss, jugglers and side show games, the evening was assessed for the degree and recieved a first.

Since moving back to Bournemouth the night has continued with indoor events held at Sound Circus and outdoor events in Kings Park.

Sploosh creates a carnival atmosphere by providing a large activity which acts as a focus and adding into the mix side show stalls and table top games.

In the past the Sploosh clubnights have included a Bucking Bronco, In the past the Sploosh clubnights have included a Bucking Bronco, Surfboard Simulator & real sand beach, Zombie Sumo Wrestling, Jelly Wrestling and a Gladiators Duel Pole.

clubnights !Sploosh clubnights attract an average of 200 attendees who range from 18 to 30 years of age.Our main audience are students and as such the evenings are geared towards them.

The clubnights consist of a main activity which is thenincorporated into a theme. Customers are encouraged to participate by coming in fancy dress which creates a fantastic all incorporating atmosphere.

Musically these nights are focused around upbeat feelgood Musically these nights are focused around upbeat feelgood tunes.Everything from James Brown to Daft Punk, Rock to Cheese, Soul to Funk and even Disco gets played at a Sploosh clubnight.Generally old classics are favoured over modern chart music however if it gets people on the dancefloor you will hear it over the speakers.

Sploosh nights try to involve as many local groups and communities as possible, in the past we have invited thecommunities as possible, in the past we have invited theBournemouth University Cheerleading Team to perform, the juggling society have regularaly apperared and local charities have been given space for hook-a duck to help them raise funds.

Sploosh : Live !Sploosh : Live takes care of our live events production and band nights. From booking bands and running shows to curating and running outdoor stages and organising volunteer steward teams Sploosh:Live has done it all.

Sploosh : Live is active in booking national touring bands and Sploosh : Live is active in booking national touring bands and presenting them to local audiences whilst remaining loyal to our grassroots programme by giving local bands the opportu-nity to support.

In the summer of 2009 we teamed up with Jelly Last Jam and ran an outdoor event in Kings Park which was a great success and we are also resonsible for the programming of stages at Boscombe Community Fair.Bands booked previously include Dreadzone Soundsystem, Neck, Subgiant, Nick Harper and Sonic Boom Six amongst others.

Sploosh : Live also work with steward teams at numerousnational festivals including local events at Blissfields and national festivals including local events at Blissfields and Endorset in Dorset.

Taking over 6 years experience in live music promotion and event production Spoosh : Live benefits from a range of skills and contacts gathered in nearly all areas of the industry.

Promotion !Its all well and good organising a great night, thinking outside the box and coming up with great ideas, but only if people attend to enjoy it.

A successful event only runs if the correct promotion and effort is put into each and every show.We pride ourselves ensuring that everybody knows when Sploosh is next happening.

Utilising mailing lists, social networking sites, contacts with Utilising mailing lists, social networking sites, contacts with the local print and radio press and extensive poster and flyer campaigns we promote every show throughly.

An average club show would see 1000 flyers and 100 postersdistributed across town and over 700 hit via online communication.
