BACKGROUNDOFDODD-FRANKRECOVERYANDRESOLUTIONPLANS…AsaresultoftheGlobalFinancialCrisisof2008,variouslegislaPonwasdevelopedandimplementedaroundtheglobeintheformofregulaPons.Oneofthekeyregulatoryitemspassedbythe111thCongressoftheUnitedStates,andsignedintolawin2010,wasH.R.4173,commonlyreferredtoasthe“Dodd-FrankWallStreetReformandConsumerProtecPonAct”.ThefinalruleintheAct,SecPon165,requiredSystemicallyImportantFinancialInsPtuPons(SIFI)withassetsmeePngacertainthresholdandnonbankfinancialcompaniesdesignatedbytheFinancialStabilityOversightCouncil(FSOC)foroversightbytheFederalReserve,tocreateandsubmitRecoveryPlansandResoluPonPlanstotheFDICandtheFederalReserve.IntheUnitedStates,thethresholdwasestablishedat$50billioninconsolidatedassets.
