INTRODUCTION

BMM’s Executive and Board of Directors are responsible for the welfare of its employees, that is their well-being, health and safety, as well as ensuring business continuity for its staff and customers.

HEALTH, SAFETY AND WELL-BEING OF BMM EMPLOYEESBMM's commitment to the health, safety and well-being of its employees includes the following actions:

Establish global Crisis Action & Response for Employees (CARE) Committee.

Promote the health, safety and well-being of employees globally through business leadership, management and regular communications.

Monitor official government and CDC announcements and act immediately (daily) on guidance.

Ensure employees are clear on BMM’s approach to work policy and practices during the virus.

Communicate BMM’s Remote Work Policy (remote work, remote security & remote management) for different employee types.

Educate employees on personal health and work/bathroom practices to mitigate infection.

Continually sterilize BMM work environment by spraying and wiping work surface areas.

Require self-quarantine for those who come into contact with Covid-19, directly or indirectly.

Require self-quarantine for those employees returning from any travel leave.

Require Covid-19 tests for those showing infection symptoms.

Require Covid-19 tests for those who may have been in contact with an infected person.

Support social distancing and separation at office, and externally.

Allow staff to work from home.

Maintain all company sponsored health insurances.

Provide paid sick leave for confirmed infections in accordance with company policy or government policy.

BMM’s approach to remote testing (for those employees not in self-quarantine):

• Aggressively implement social distancing guidelines by allowing our staff to perform their testing from home, whenever technically feasible.

• Collaborate with strategic customers to use a combination of BMM and customer technology to increase the number of testers that can work from home by using remote access.

• BMM has expanded its 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) coverage to individual computers being used by our remote staff to enhance our cyber defense capabilities. BMM can provide our customers with this 24/7 cyber monitoring and incident response capability for corporate network and individual computers to support your security teams in this critical time.

• BMM provides a high level of remote management to support productivity.

Where testers work from BMM labs, our approach includes:

• Multiple shifts, staggering work hours, to support separation.

• Increasing the physical workspace between the individuals to support separation.

• Mandating all meetings onsite be tele-meetings (Skype, IM, WebEx, Zoom) to support separation.

• Implemented a mandatory Hygiene Policy for individuals and their workspaces including hand washing, surface area wipe downs, etc.

Given that many locations have closed schools and day care services, BMM’s remote working strategy and multiple shifts approach also allows working parents to manage their time with children, while meeting their work responsibilities.

BMM proposes a meeting with customers as soon as possible to discuss remote testing:

• Design approach and process that can be implemented rapidly. We acknowledge that solutions may be different for each customer and we are committed to providing continuous quality testing.

• Identify tools to perform the testing remotely to their EGMs, servers, platforms.

• Secure VPN from tester’s residence to BMM office to access the hardware & software. In some cases, for QA, the VPN will have to access the client’s VLAN once in the office.

BMM is also investigating testing desktop configurations and deployment with customers:

• Some functionality may require a BMM onsite resource and we will provide that.

• Rapidly architect the proposed solution.

• Immediately test the proposed solution and optimize as required.

• Sign-off with the client on the solution.

• Remotely train our remote testers on the tools.

• Start remote testing immediately (% of remote testing may vary due to technology requirements).

BMM’s guidelines for its customers' remote testing approach include:

• Investigate customers' technical capabilities for remote testing. BMM may be able to assist you in identifying tools and processes that will increase remote testing coverage.

• Seriously consider shift work to reduce the density of employees per area and help parents who need to be with their children at all times.

• Implement a robust remote management planning, organization, direction and control process.

• Use specialized remote security tools and methodologies to enhance cyber defense.

REMOTE SECURITY

BMM’s approach to remote security for employees needing to work from home due to Covid-19 is:

• BMM’s security partner is experiencing a 50% increase in phishing attacks during the Covid-19 crisis as criminals take advantage of increased vulnerabilities of companies due to an increase in remote access to company’s networks and, presumably, strained in-house IT resources.

• The US Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued an Alert on March 13 regarding increased risks of remote work.

• Companies are investing millions in security technology/tools to protect network access, like locks on windows and doors to a house.

• BMM has a point of view that employees will unwittingly invite a hacker into your network, no matter how many locks are in place. BMM believes that proactive cyber defense, (beyond cybersecurity) providing 24/7 monitoring and incident response capability is a key requirement for meaningful cyber resilience. Effectively, we place a security team inside the business, fully capable of handling any cyber incident, rather than placing locks on all the windows and doors and hoping that someone will notice when (not if) something happens.

• With so many workers now working remotely and accessing vital information assets – including senior executives, finance, HR, sales, marketing, software developers and testers, etc., it is extremely important to have the ability to monitor in real time for potential breaches at the machine level, when machines are on and off the corporate network.

• BMM’s cyber defense solution allows companies to directly connect to what we believe to be the most advanced commercially available SOC in the world (Cyrebro SOC) extremely quickly, with no added IT staff requirements, and cost effectively. This connection is achieved via a unique agent called Cyrebro X, which is loaded on each machine. This unique agent will monitor the machines for any malicious activity and send alerts to the SOC for analysis and potential follow-up and remediation by the SOC response team with extensive state level cyber defense experience.

• At this time of dramatically increased remote access, having professional 24/7 monitoring and incident response capabilities of a high quality SOC is of paramount importance. The last thing a company needs during the Covid-19 crisis is a cybersecurity crisis as well.

REMOTE MANAGEMENT

BMM’s approach to remote management is focused on planning, organization, direction and control (PODC) to obtain maximum productivity and quality and lends itself rapidly to remote testing. Our suggested PODC approach is:

• Test leads hold daily team scrums with their testers to plan work at beginning of day, and review progress at end of day.

• Group managers and test leads hold progress tele-meetings once the end-of-day scrum is completed.

• Group managers will work with their client counterpart to evaluate workload and flow daily and advise leads of any changes in roadmaps and concentrations.

• Testers will immediately contact leads on any questions they have via email, IM or phone depending on the urgency of the issue.

• Test leads and group managers will work with their client counterpart via tele-meeting or email.

• Test leads will triage defects during the day in the client’s or BMM’s defect management system.

• Group managers will have a daily scrum meeting with their director and continue to provide daily, weekly, monthly & quarterly reporting.

BMM’s Executive and Board of Directors have implemented plans to ensure the welfare of its employees and ensure business continuity for its staff and customers. To achieve this, BMM has committed to a remote testing, remote security and remote management program that can also support customers should they wish to implement similar plans. These plans are a work in progress with ongoing adjustments implemented to improve performance and further protect stakeholders.
