OVERVIEW The Sacramento First Community Advisory Council (CAC) will support the Kings’ goal of building a world-class entertainment and sports center (ESC) that generates transformative economic and community benefits for the Sacramento region. Members represent a diverse array of perspectives from business, labor, faith, civic, government and community backgrounds. MEETING SCHEDULE The CAC will convene regularly during the construction of the ESC to receive updates and measure progress against a Community Impact Scorecard. Allen Warren is a councilmember for the City of Sacramento District 2, where he assists constituents with municipal services, community concerns and works with neighborhood associations. Currently, he serves as chair of the Entertainment and Sports Center Committee, chair of the Sacramento Employment and Training Agency, chair of the City of Sacramento Audit Committee, and serves on other boards and commissions including the Greater Sacramento Urban League. Hon. Warren has received numerous awards for his work community and philanthropic efforts including the American Leadership Community Service Award and the Greater Sacramento Urban League Unity Award. HON. ALLEN WARREN (Co-Chair) Council Member | City of Sacramento Azizza Goines is president and chief executive officer of the Sacramento Black Chamber of Commerce for the past eight years. In that capacity she has successfully increased the Chamber’s membership by 15%. As a result programs and partnerships continue to increase including the creation of an advocacy program in Washington D.C. each year during the Congressional Black Caucus Convention. Goines has over thirty years of experience in Association Management. Her expertise includes fund development, membership recruitment and retention, communication and advocacy. Clothilde Hewlett is partner at Nossaman LLP, where she assists clients with policy issues in California at the federal level and across several industries. Hewlett has received significant awards as a nationwide leader on diversity and small business contracting. As Undersecretary of the State and Consumer Services Agency and Interim Director of the Department of General Services under Governor Gray Davis, she designed the State’s small business program and led the effort to increase small business contracting among state agencies. Also, she has assisted the California Public Utilities Commission in increasing the use of diverse small businesses by investor own utilities. Hewlett received her B.A. and J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. CLOTHILDE HEWLETT (Co-Chair) Partner | Nossaman LLP Kevin Brown is a Pastor, and business owner. He currently serves as the pastor of the Mt Sinai Missionary Baptist Church where he provides executive leadership, teaching of the gospel, and provides council to many within the church and the throughout the broader community. He is also a co-owner of an assisted living facility where he provides vision and marketing leadership to the owners and administrator. He is a former Major League Baseball Player and uses his expertise to help others as they strive to meet their athletic endeavors. PASTOR KEVIN D. BROWN Pastor | Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church Daniel Conway serves as chief of staff to Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, where he represents and advises the Mayor on a variety of issues at the local, state, and federal levels. Conway coordinates and directs the operations of the Mayor’s office while working closely with city council members and their staffs, city staff, and community groups. Previously he served as the legal and public affairs director for the California Restaurant Association, consultant at KP Public Affairs, and a project manager at Kaufman Campaign Consultants. Conway received his B.A. in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. L ino Pedres is president of the Sacramento Central Labor

Counci l , AFL CIO, where he leads the local labor movement

and protects the r ights of workers in Sacramento, Yolo,

Amador, Nevada, P lacer, and E l Dorado county. He also serves

as v ice president of SEIU Uni ted Service Workers West, where

he leads contract negot iat ions, leadership development

and community organiz ing. In both ro les, Pedres leads the

labor movement, p layed a key ro le to unionize thousands of

custodians, and is a st rong advocate for low wage workers

and is heavi ly involved in community serv ice.

Michael Aul t is execut ive di rector of the Downtown

Sacramento Partnership, where he oversees the planning and

implementat ion of programs including economic development,

retai l recrui tment and publ ic safety. Aul t a lso faci l i tates

cooperat ion among downtown groups, and administers

pol ic ies and programs to advance downtown Sacramento’s

leverage as a regional center. He has extensive knowledge

of local government, urban planning and redevelopment

process, holding posi t ions at the Sacramento Housing and

Redevelopment Agency and the Ci ty of Sacramento.

Alastai r Macgregor is v ice president at AECOM, where

he leads the High Performance Bui ld ings Group in North

America and is leading the sustainable design effor t for the

Sacramento ESC. His responsibi l i t ies include LEED consult ing,

energy master p lanning and commissioning. Macgregor has

gained signi f icant exper ience in the evaluat ion, use and

implementat ion of sustainable design solut ions that a l low

him to provide an innovat ive and integrated approach to

whole systems sustainabi l i ty. His port fol io includes over 50

LEED projects including the World F inance Center in Bei j ing

and NASA’s Sustainabi l i ty Base.

Shel ly Wi l l is is the di rector of the Sacramento Metropol i tan

Ar ts Commission (SMAC), where she manages the Ci ty and

County’s Ar t in Publ ic P laces Program. In th is ro le, she has

overseen the instal lat ion of publ ic ar t p ieces including at

the Sacramento Internat ional A i rport . Wi l l is has extensive

knowledge including managing the Universi ty of Minnesota

publ ic ar t program and serves on advisory board for a var iety

of organizat ions that support publ ic ar t nat ional ly. Wi l l is

received her B.A. in Business and Art History f rom Cal i fornia

State Universi ty, Chico.

Dennis Canevar i is president of the Sacramento-Sierra’s

Bui ld ing and Construct ion Trades Counci l which represents

bui ld ing and construct ion t rade unions. In th is capaci ty,

Canevar i advocates for the use of state approved

apprent iceship programs and union labor for the bui ld ing

and construct ion industry. He has more than 30 years of

exper ience in the construct ion industry including serving as

a credent ia led apprent iceship instructor, contract manager

and t rustee for mult i -employer def ined benef i t and def ined

contr ibut ion pension plans. Dennis received his B.A. in Labor

Studies and Labor Educat ion f rom the Nat ional Labor Col lege.

Turner Construct ion, where he is responsible for t racking

and secur ing annual sales of $150 mi l l ion in contract

opportuni t ies for the Sacramento of f ice. Mr. Wi l l iams has

over 25 years of project and construct ion management

exper ience on publ ic sector projects throughout Northern

Cal i fornia, including many educat ional and inst i tut ional

projects. Wi l l iams is a graduate of Cal i fornia State Universi ty

Fresno, and has cont inued his educat ion through the UC Davis

Execut ive Leadership Program.

Peter Tateishi is the chief execut ive of f icer for the Sacramento

Regional Bui lders Exchange, where he is responsible for

the long-term planning, administ rat ion and management of

the operat ional act iv i t ies, personnel and programs. He is

responsible for developing and enhancing re lat ionships with

other industry groups, the archi tectural and engineer ing

suppl ier groups and var ious regulatory agencies. Tateishi

received his B.A. in Government Studies f rom the Cal i fornia

State Universi ty Sacramento and M.A. in Publ ic Administ rat ion

f rom the Universi ty of Southern Cal i fornia.
