It is a very important time for children due to end of year assessments, transitions to new classes and preparing Year 6 for their move to secondary school Birthdays are not an acceptable reason for a day of absence! PE KIT Children must have their games and PE kit in school Monday to Friday all week Set days can change at short notice and we sometimes get last minute opportunities for sports coaches to visit classes Please ensure your child’s kit meets the school expectations White/blue t-shirt, dark shorts/joggers, dark sweatshirt Please support your child to have their kit in school Whole School Attendance is currently 95.06% We feel sure you will agree that having children in school regularly is the best way to support their education. To support you, the children’s attendance is regularly monitored and should their attendance fall below 95% we are required by law to inform you by letter. We now have the added support of the Prevention Service for any children whose attendance falls significantly below 95%. The Prevention Service is a service that helps and supports families in North Yorkshire to ensure that all children are safe, happy and well and that they can flourish in school and the wider world. Come and join our fun and informal Getting to Grips with English course From filling out a form to writing a letter, we can help

Every Thursday at Overdale School

DEEP - Drop Everything, Enjoy Playing

Come and join Overdale School Nursery at our free stay and play sessions for 2—3 year olds Every Tuesday from 9.30am - 11.00am

All children must be accompanied by an adult

Also, please collect an admissions pack from the school office to register your child to start Overdale Nursery and get 15 hours free childcare once they are aged 3

Keystage 2 Staffing

We are pleased to have appointed two new teachers to join our KS2 team

Year 3 - Mrs Talbot will be in class for 3 days and also Mr Shackleton for 3 days They will have one day together for team teaching

Year 4 - Mrs Kershaw will be in class Tuesday - Friday and Mr Shackleton on Mondays

You will have the chance to meet our new teachers at Parent Consultation afternoon

or pop in and say hello after school

Bad Weather

We will always do our best to remain open during the season of bad weather but if we have a situation where reduced staffing will lead to Health and Safety issues we will close and you know as soon as possible. Please listen to Yorkshire Coast Radio or Radio York for messages, especially when the weather is poor. If possible, we will text you (so please make sure we have your up-to-date mobile number). Also, now the weather is getting colder please send the children to school with suitable coats , hats and gloves.
