NAME : SHARVNI A/ARUMUGAM I/C : 930125-02-5588 SCHOOL : SJK(C) SIN MIN PAUH Overall Reflection of SBE 2 Firstly, I went through my second time of the School Based Experience (SBE) for five days starting from 7 th September 2014 until 12 th September 2014 at Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan Sin Min Pauh , Perlis. . First of all, the objective of second SBE is to observe the application of theories in the teaching and learning process in schools, observe the pedagogical application in the classroom and identify teachers’ ancillary tasks in the classroom. All these objectives will help us to understand the students’ different needs based on the learning theories that have been learned and at the same time we can realize the importance of teachers professional work ethics while assisting the teacher in the classroom. I was responsible with a task to observe and record the teaching and learning process based on the learning theories that have been identified. I had observed two different classes where English lesson took place. It was a class if Standard 4 and 5. I experience a variety of application of learning theories more during the class of Standard 5. I also been given classes to go relief and it was an interesting experience for me. I need to give a lot of thought what to teach them and how to handle the class. It was tiring but I managed to handle I well. In my opinion, the teacher applied cognitivist theory as one of the main tools to deliver a meaningful lesson to the students. As an educator, she also gives attention to passive students. She picked some of them and asked them to answer her question even though they shy to do so. But they started to think and answer her question after the teacher give some clues to them.It was fun and exciting for me to see the teacher teaching in class. The students were very cute and helpful. They saw me with crutches as I was injured. So they helped me to carry the books and all when they saw me struggling.Overall, the second school based experience is wonderful and memorable experience.
