Sean RuleAssociate Professor of MathVoted Delaware’s “Best Musician” while in high school, Sean’s musical career includes stints as the drummer for Plow United and other punk bands. When not in the classroom or playing a show, Sean can be found rock climbing, biking and cross-country skiing throughout the Cascades.
Kathy McCabeAssociate Professor of Criminal JusticeA former Michigan police officer, Kathy worked on assignments such as hostage negotiator and field training officer. Now she passes her knowledge on to COCC students while organizing volunteer crowd control services for the Oregon Special Olympics, the American Red Cross and many of Bend’s events.

FITNESSWith all the outdoor recreation that surrounds Central Oregon, you’re going to want to stay on top of your game. The Mazama Gym has everything you need for your workout, includ-ing basketball courts, full weight room, aerobic equipment, climbing wall, dance studios and a multipurpose area. Outside you’ll find a 400-meter track, soccer field and four tennis courts. The Exercise Physiology Testing Lab is here to provide full fitness testing and analysis to help you take your game to the next level.
sportsClub sports and intramural teams are a great way to compete, have fun and meet new people. From team sports like soccer, rugby, basketball and volleyball to individual sports like triathlon and cross-country running, there’s a sport for every student.
0n-campus housingLocated just west of the Mazama Gymnasium and field, our new 330-bed Residence Hall gives students the chance to enjoy the full college experience. Rooms are fully-furnished and come with high-speed internet access, cable and all the comforts of home — without having to actually live at home.
multicultural activitiesOur Multicultural Center is a welcoming place for students of all backgrounds to connect, share and promote cross-cultural awareness. We create a stronger community through activities like book discussions, guest speakers, international films and live performances to give students the chance to share their heritage while learning about other’s cultural differences.
clubs & organizationsStudent clubs give you a chance to pursue your passion or find a new one while meeting new people. From gaming and gardening to art and theater, we have a club for whatever your interest. Want to see your name in ink (or pixels)? The Broadside gives students the chance to report, write, edit or design for the print and online versions of our award-winning weekly newspaper.

welcome to your campusSure, COCC offers a first-class education. So do a lot of schools. But do a lot of schools also have downhill skiing and snowboarding, mountain biking, fly-fishing, trail running,
kayaking, cross-country skiing, thirty golf courses and stand-up paddleboarding just minutes from campus? We didn’t think so. Central Oregon offers a dynamic landscape to pursue
every passion under the sun. Teeming forests, soaring mountains, dozens of lakes and rivers and one of the world’s most popular rock-climbing destinations
are all here and waiting. After you finish your homework, of course.
Bend provides the best of small-town charm and convenience
with big-city entertainment and amenities. Coffee shops, movie
theaters, boutique shopping and more microbreweries than you
can count are all just a short bike ride away in downtown Bend
and the nearby Old Mill shopping district. Major retailers like

BEND CAMPUS. Located on Bend’s west side, the main campus is home to many
of our transfer degree classes, professional degree programs and newest buildings,
including the state-of-the-art Jungers Culinary Center, the Health Careers Center and our
Science Center. Set among the peace and quiet of a juniper and pine-studded forest,
spectacular views of the Cascades can be found from nearly every vantage point on
campus. Our Bend campus is just minutes from Downtown Bend and the Old Mill District,
Mt. Bachelor, the Deschutes National Forest, the Deschutes River and the Cascade Lakes.
