Outlook on Equity Markets

1

Equity Market outlook In India macro economic parameters like current account deficit, fiscal deficit and high inflation

have shown significant improvement. Earnings growth still remains weak but has levers to improve in FY16. Mid And Small Cap funds fared better with absolute return of 6.22% and large cap with 2.82%.

What should be investor strategy? Sectors such as financials, consumer discretionary and industrials will benefit from cyclical recovery

in growth. Based on valuations we prefer the financials and consumer discretionary over industrials Earnings for Mid cap companies will likely improve with a recovery in domestic growth and a more

benign monetary environment Though there is a preference for pro cyclical stance, portfolio strategy is more balanced given the

valuations changes over past year.

Ways of investing

2

There are various ways of investing in mutual funds. But the most prominent ones are : A. Lump sum: It’s a one time investment of buying the mutual fund units at any given time.

B. Systematic Investment Plan: A Systematic Investment Plan or SIP is a smart and hassle free mode for investing money in mutual funds. SIP allows you to invest a certain pre-determined amount at a regular interval (monthly, quarterly,). How does it work? Money is auto-debited from your bank account and invested into a specific mutual fund scheme. Number of units are allocated based on the ongoing market rate (called NAV or net asset value) for

the day. Units are bought at different rates and investors benefit from Rupee-Cost Averaging and the Power of
