We have 9 centres in the UK & Europe and all of our locations have been chosen with real adventure in mind.

Sleeping under the stars has always been at the heart of an Acorn Adventure, with schools and groups camping & dining in their own private, pre-erected, comfortable tented village. Now we also offer pods, tipis, cabins and dorms, giving you plenty of choice, in beautiful settings close to lakes, mountains, rivers, beaches, forests and popular cultural visits.

Whether you’re camping, glamping or sleeping indoors, our centres actively encourage a `community spirit` with each group having their own exclusive area, getting involved in daily chores, singing, cooking around the campfire or dining al- fresco.

Set up by a former teacher in the early ’80’s, Acorn understands not only how invaluable these trips are, but also what it takes to organise them, so our dedicated team are fully focused on making the process as easy & fun as possible.

This wonderful adventure in the woods combines the magic and adventure of sleeping and dining in giant tipis, with a wide range of forest activities. There’s even time for a visit to the neighbouring West Midlands Safari Park, included in the price!

Our exclusive camp is nestled in a private clearing deep inside the woods, so close to the Safari Park that the dinosaurs can be heard roaring! A fun-filled itinerary includes bushcraft such as fire lighting, shelter building and camp crafts, climbing, target sports, a nightline, forest orienteering and other team tasks. Evenings are spent cooking marshmallows on the campfire and games in the woods, facilitated by Acorn staff. Set in the heart of the picturesque Ardèche region, Southern France, our exclusive and well-established centre boasts the best location in the area, with most activities from kayaking to climbing, located on-site or within walking distance. The real highlight of this trip is the two-day canoe descent of the Ardèche River Gorge including an overnight stay at a purpose-built bivouac site. Our expert river team will be there to support you every step (or stroke!) of the way.

Our private centre is nestled amongst the trees on the banks of two rivers near the pretty town of Ruoms. Our large camp boasts an onsite swimming pool (with lifeguard), beach, café/bar, volleyball areas, games room and shop.

Adventure awaits at this amazing location inside the Plateau de Millevaches National Park surrounded by lakes, woodland and pretty countryside. Just an 8-hour drive from Calais on the edge of the popular Dordogne region of France, activities include sailing, kayaking, canoeing and paddle-boarding on the lake, stream scrambling in the Dordogne and a wide variety of land-based activities such as climbing and even a zip-wire right over the lake!

Our partners, Club Correze have been operating this adventure centre for 30 years and during this time it has proved highly popular with schools and groups. All activities are included and delivered by the experienced Club Correze activity team who operate to the same exacting standards as Acorn. You’ll also enjoy a day at The Chateau du Val, one of the most beautiful fairytale castles in France, where you can take on the mighty Val Adventure High Ropes Course.

Sleep in your own exclusive 12 room Guest House, hosted by our Maltese partners. Each

room sleeps up to five in bunk beds and are all en-suite, with air conditioning. The Guest

House can accommodate groups of up to 60 (depending on male/female splits).

Acorn created the `village living` philosophy back

in the ‘80s and we still believe in the magic of sleeping under the stars today.

We now have more accommodation options available but the original ethos of the village experience runs through everything we do. At the heart of all of our trips is the value of

community spirit, team work, dining altogether as one group, singing, toasting marshmallow

around the campfire, getting to know our staff and ultimately living, working and

playing together as one school group.

We see outdoor living as an invaluable part of the Acorn Adventure journey.

Village Living


Popular for over 38 years, our tented villages are the ideal setting offering school groups of 35 or more their own private space, made up of up to 22 tents, a play area and a central marquee for dining and socialising. Our comfortable, standing height tents are pre-erected for ease and each pupil tent comes with four proper beds with mattresses and solid flooring. Our teacher tents have two timber beds with comfy mattresses, electricity (overseas camps), lighting, timber floor and storage.

pOdsCamping pods are now available at our private Brecon Beacons Camp, nestled in at the lakeside for the ultimate camping experience. Pupil pods sleep up to five and have proper beds, lighting and heating. Teacher pods sleep up to three and have proper beds, lighting, electricity, a TV, dining table and a toilet/basin, kitchenette and TV.

TiPiSOur magical Woodland Adventure accommodates groups in their own private forest tipi village, with sheltered dining area and toilet/shower facilities close by.

DOrmSFor those who prefer bricks to canvas, the Dordogne Adventure offers groups exclusive use of dorms in a private Acorn block, with en-suite facilities for teachers in private rooms. Our new Maltese Adventure accommodates up to 48 people in a private Guest House, with en-suite rooms and pool.

cabinsOur Mediterranean Adventure offers a more alpine-style accommodation experience with its en-suite log cabins, set in a private zone of a large complex providing access to the wider facilities.
