ON THE RADIO• More commonly known as a DJ• Choose the music that plays on

the radio• Talk to guests and make

commercials• Usually works in a small room

called a studio• 5-6 days a week for 4-5 hours

• Must be able to keep track of time (when to play music and when to play commercials) and ad-lib (talk without notes)

• Adjusts sound

• Average Salary: less than $30,000

Education Needed to be a Successful Disc Jockey

• High School Diploma• Specialization in communication • May have associate’s or bachelor’s degree• Computer applications (format the music, mixing music)• Business (selling products on the radio, promoting show

or station)
