Here we find ourselves at the end of a very busy but successful school year. As with most schools and communities in the Northern Territory there are lots of goodbyes at this time of year for staff and students. Of course this includes our Year 6 students moving on to Middle School but also a number of families leaving for interstate. Sadly we are also saying goodbye to some fabulous teachers. FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dignity and Determination

Amy Grego our Year 5/6 teacher is leaving the

Territory to continue travelling and spend time with

family.

Her message: “The past 2 years at Durack have

been a wonderful experience for me; my first time

teaching Year 5/6s and working in the Palmerston

region. I’ve enjoyed many exciting adventures with

the students including adventure camps, excursions

to the big smoke and more. I’ve had the privilege of

working with many experienced and very supportive

teachers and support staff and have enjoyed learn-

ing new things from each of them. My husband,

FROM THE PRINCIPAL continued….

Gianna Bannon our non-contact release teacher is moving to Forrest Parade School as a classroom teacher. “I really enjoyed staying on track at Durack because the staff, children and families are so wonderful. I had a great time and was made to feel very welcome. I will miss every-one when I move to Forrest Parade School next year and I’ll be sure to pop in for a visit every chance I get. Ros Stewart our Year 5/6 is moving to another school into a different role. “I have thoroughly enjoyed being at Durack

this year. The staff and students are amazing

and I will miss them all. It has been a pleasure

working with Year 5/6 students and watching

them grow and develop. I wish all the Year 6’s

all the very best as they move onto Middle

School next year. Thank you. Ros Stewart. “

Eilish McCluskey our non-contact release teacher is moving to Gray Primary in 2018 as PE teacher. Her message “ Durack is an amazing school! I have had lots of fun in my short time here. Wish I was staying, but I’m excited to be teaching PE next year at Gray Primary”
