5

How are teams utilized?

Arie: We meet every few months to discuss new rules and procedures. The team trains employees step by step using a paper guide so everyone is trained the same way.

Tenzin: The resident assistance teams meet before and after each shift to discuss issues that occurred. The team members multitask and assign team members tasks to accomplish shift goals.

Joshua: Teams meet daily and weekly in order to enforce compliance with regulations and policies within the company. The team environment allows people to learn and rely on each other’s strengths.

6

What makes your team successful?

Arie: We follow the training guides so everyone is on the same page.

Tenzin: Great communication, team work, and understanding.

Joshua: Good management that encourages growth, self-initiative, and recognition to the individual’s preferred methods.

7

Who sets your goals and do team members have input toward them?

Arie: Our managers set our goals and yes we have input towards them.

Tenzin: All team members for each shift set goals daily to complete and report it to the director of wellness.

Joshua: Team members set their own goals. There are overall general sales goals for the organization.

8

HOW ARE NEW IDEAS TREATED AND DEVELOPED WITHIN AN

ORGANIZATION?

9

…New Ideas Continued

Arie: Good, we usually collaborate the new ideas anyway.

Tenzin: Team members present ideas to each other and at the monthly meeting for consideration by the executive director and then president for final authorization.

Joshua: New ideas are accepted and encouraged. Implementation depends on scope, regulations and business needs.

10

HOW DOES YOUR TEAM RESOLVE CONFLICT AND IF A TEAM MEMBER IS NOT WORKING

EFFECTIVELY, WHAT STEPS ARE TAKEN?

11

…Conflict Resolution Continued

Arie: We talk about it and if we can’t reach a resolution we bring it to a manager to resolve the conflict.

Tenzin: Address the teammates to figure out if there is a problem and talk about it with each other.

Joshua: Conflict is resolved with communication, respect, and common goals. Teams need to acknowledge and identify why it is not efficient and how problems can be resolved.

12

HOW CAN THESE EXAMPLES HELP OTHER ORGANIZATIONS WHO ENCOUNTER ISSUES

WITHIN THE COMPANY?

13

…Helping Other Companies Continued

Ashley: Compromise is key, listen, first try to understand others before trying to be understood yourself.

Tenzin: Please consider your team mate efforts and consider that it is a team working together to succeed with future goals, always communicate and listen to each other's feedback.

Joshua: Team work is essential and the lack thereof threatens the group as a whole.
