Isaiah AppealOn Yom Kippur morning, Isaiah Appeal cards were distributed to members as they entered the sanctuary. The Isaiah Appeal is a member engagement initiative that matches members with the opportunities at the synagogue in which they are most interested. If you did not receive your Isaiah Appeal card, or have not yet returned it, you will soon receive one in the mail. Please return the cards to the synagogue as soon as you are able. Cemetery Plot SaleTifereth Israel members in good standing are eligible for a 15% discount on cemetery plots purchased by Friday, December 28th. To take advantage of this special offer, members must pay their full 2018/19 dues prior to the purchase. The sale is in advance of an increase in plot prices, effective Tuesday, January 1, 2019, from $3,200 to $3,400 for members and from $5,800 to $6,000 for non-members. Join us at minyan on the date of your loved one’s yahrzeit to pray with the community, hear their name read, and recite the mourner’s kaddish. This occurs at services the evening before, as well as the morning and afternoon of the date of the yahrzeit. On Shabbat, all those observing a yahrzeit in the coming week are invited to the bimah for the honor of an aliyah and to share the name of their loved one.

Kol Nidre AppealOn Erev Yom Kippur (and the following morning), members received their Kol Nidre Appeal pledge card on the way into the sanctuary. The Kol Nidre Appeal is the synagogue's largest fundraiser of the year and supports the high-quality programming, services, educational opportunities, and pastoral care for which Tifereth Israel is known. Our goals are to raise $150,000 and have 100% member participation this year. Gifts of all sizes will help us reach these goals and we hope you will participate at whatever level is appropriate for you.
