Thank you in advance to the organising team for your hard work and dedication to this event. I am looking forward to being there on Saturday evening. Parent Forum We would like to invite you to attend a forum on Monday 1 July at 9:30 am in the old hall, Kingslangley Road. One of our parents, Penny Barletta has been researching –environments that support our kids to do their best. She will present on the following - every parent wants his/her child to do their best at school, but that doesn’t always happen. We'll look at the ways our parenting style can help or hinder our children in taking on the challenges of schoolwork with the help of Dr Sylvia Rimm's book - why bright kids get poor grades and what you can do about it! I look forward to Penny’s presentation and hope you can join us for a cup of tea or coffee. I hope that the day forum will expand and we can cover a variety of topics so I am happy to take suggestions from our parent group. Schools Spectacular Tickets Schools Spectacular is an annual showcase of the exceptional talents and abilities of our students in the creative and performing arts. Lane Cove Schools Rotary Public Speaking Competition

A huge congratulations to Alex B and Cilla W who represented Greenwich Public

School at the 2019 Lane Cove Rotary Public Speaking Competition, which was held,

last Thursday evening at the Lane Cove Council Chambers. Both girls competed

magnificently against students from Lane Cove, Lane Cove West, Mowbray and St

Ignatius College with Alex presenting a beautifully descriptive piece on ‘Climbing

the Heights’ and Cilla, a real-world take on ‘Is the Media a Good Source of

Information?’ Both girls should be extremely proud of the efforts in preparing for,

and competing in this event.

Kindergarten News

KSH has been very busy this term! We have had lots of fun learning in many different ways. KSH has been to the

cross country, created Mother’s Day cards and used art to help inspire our hard work this term. Many students

created a mermaid artwork that included watercolour, crayons and glitter. This helped us use adjectives and similes

in our writing so we could properly describe her. Aren’t we as clever as cookies? KSH was lucky enough to show

off our hard work at our class assembly last week.

Stage 1 News

We have been busy learning all about warm and cool colours in 1/2KB!

We created our pretty peacocks using pastels and water colour and we think they look great!

“I liked making them because they were fun to draw and paint. We learnt that by using different types of colours we can make our artworks stand out.” Maya 1/2KB
