X X X 100 403 An Expected Journey: Managing the Risks of a SharePoint Implementation for an EDRMS solution

Implementing SharePoint for an EDRMS solution requires executive buy-in and business support foremost, followed by managing expectations during the journey before system implementation, configuration, and rollout. Managing risks and expectations involves IM awareness, IM policy renewal, IM readiness, file plan update, and paper / content clean-up as a way to deliver incremental value and steady improvement.

X X X X 100 404 From SharePoint to Office Development : The path to your new playground

The world around the Office Developer is changing. And for someone with a heavy SharePoint background, it can be somewhat scary to make the move to the cloud. But don't be scared, SharePoint Developer! Become an added-value Office Developer and contribute to maximize the productivity of your enterprise. In this session, we will cover every aspect of the new Office Developer paradigm and we will ensure that you can make yourself at home in such a new world. The topics covered will be: SharePoint Add-In, Office 365 Apps, Office Add-In, Microsoft Graph.

X X 200 403 How Secure is My Data in Microsoft Office 365?

When considering a cloud based service like Office 365, questions about security and trust often gets asked – questions like: Can I trust Office 365 with my company’s data? How secure is my data in Office 365? Organizations are often cautious when it comes to trusting cloud services with storing and providing access to corporate data. This becomes even more of a concern when we think about sensitive data, personally identifiable data or data that requires regulatory compliance controls. Being cautious and asking a cloud service provider questions about security and trust is a positive step. Answering those questions requires learning about the security strategy the provider has employed, and the specific controls they have put in place to protect your data. This session will answer those questions and provide an overview of the robust set of security capabilities available in Office 365.

Go Full Tony Stark with 3D User Interfaces using Microsoft HoloLens and SharePoint

You have seen Minority Report (maybe). You have seen Iron Man. (surely) Microsoft HoloLens represents the first step to the incredible User Interfaces you see in these movies. Combining speech, gesture and 3 dimensional graphics to form a natural UI that blurs the line between machine and user. In this special demo, you will get a sneak peak of the Microsoft HoloLens and how it is being used to create the future of UI and the future of collaboration. Held in the vendor areas, I will be doing 10-15 minute demos of HoloLens in general and discussing its use with SharePoint specifically. I will then let people actually use the headset.

OneDrive for Business has undergone significant changes over the last year, and some of these changes have introduced confusion to customers. This session will attempt to clear up as much of the confusion as possible. We will walk through how One Drive has evolved over the years, and where it is at today. X X 200 412 When to Use What When Provisioning SharePoint Online

In order to meet specific business needs, SharePoint Online

requires various changes to be made to it, such as branding and

content structure. The process of applying these changes to a

SharePoint site is called Provisioning. SharePoint Online can be

provisioned in a number of ways. Depending on your specific

scenario of changes you need to introduce, your provisioning

options will vary.

In this session, I'll be covering and comparing provisioning

SharePoint solutions through the native SharePoint user

interface, SharePoint Designer, and PowerShell. In the latter part

of the presentation, I will share a process I've been successfully

using from requirements gathering to repeatable deployments

of SharePoint sites.

Come to my session to learn about the various provisioning

alternatives and when it's best to use each of them.

X X 200 403 When Your Tower of Babel Reaches the Cloud: Languages and Office 365

Office 365 handles many languages individually, but if there is more than one language at once things get tricky. Making SharePoint sites truly multilingual using the Multilingual User Interface is already difficult enough, but on Office 365 the challenges are multiplied.

Level Room Topic Abstract

Some solutions that work with SharePoint on-premise are not possible. When configuring sites or localising apps, you may be surprised how many different factors Office 365 uses to determine the language of different components. Many of the language configuration and localisation methods described on Microsoft sites do not tell the entire story; they apply to some scenarios and not to others. You will find out what to watch out for, what works and what doesn’t, and how to fix it. You will learn some of the language-related challenges and opportunities that apply to both Office 365 and SharePoint 2013 or 2016, and some of the additional challenges unique to Office 365. The session will also discuss machine translation, specifically giving insight into what types of content translate well and what types don’t. Some points will be illustrated with short demos, but since most changes to language configurations take several minutes to take effect, there is some suspense involved in these demos.

X X X 100 403 SharePoint 2016 Transitory Documents to GCDOCS Records Demonstration on Microsoft Azure

This presentation will demonstrate through a live interactive session how to manage SharePoint 2016 transitory documents for collaboration purposes and then store some of these documents as records in GCDOCS. Transitory documents in SharePoint will be moved as records to specific folders in the GCDOCS workspace based on the OpenText AGA Connector Profiles and Query Rules. The trigger to submit SharePoint transitory documents as GCDOCS records will be based on SharePoint IM Policies or approval workflows. SharePoint document content types will be mapped to GCDOCS Categories and Attributes to ensure metadata migration We will demonstrate how the SharePoint Enterprise Search engine will be able to provide query-based results simultaneously from both SharePoint and GCDOCS repositories.
