Our day care is designed to give caregivers and families regular or intermittent daily respite, while their loved ones enjoy a quality environment and genuine caring by qualifi ed and well-trained staff. Our attendees usually have some form of memory impairment and/or a diagnosis of a type of dementia, or older people who experience mental illness such as depression or anxiety. However, if you live on your own and would like to join us for a day of companionship, activities and a nutritious three-course lunch in a homely atmosphere, then please do not hesitate getting in touch with us.

Subject to your enquiry, a senior member of Staff would arrange to meet you and the person needing day care and go through an assessment to confi rm that the services are appropriate and suitable for their needs. This would be either at your home or at Gorsey Clough. If you wanted to proceed with our day care service, we would ask you to complete a personal history questionnaire. Our Home

Gorsey Clough is approximately 1 mile from the village of Tottington and ½ a mile from the historic hamlet of Affetside and close to the town of Bury, Greater Manchester.

Situated in Green Belt, the Home has a wonderful outlook, enjoying unspoilt views of the surrounding countryside and is approached by a long drive leading down to the original 19th century house. Over the past 25 years, we have extended the Home to accommodate 61 beds.

The lawns and the sunken garden are beautifully maintained and there is a large patio area at the back where Residents and their guests can sit out and enjoy the views.

The views of the surrounding countryside are very attractive and the whole setting is entirely rural yet very near to the amenities of Tottington and a little further on to the town of Bury itself.

The proximity of motorways means that even Bolton and Manchester can be described as being only a short distance away.

Your Bedroom

Our 50 bedrooms are attractively decorated and furnished to the highest modern standards with some enjoying unspoilt views of the surrounding countryside.

All room sizes comfortably exceed the national minimum requirements and provide for individual space and comfort. Most bedrooms are single occupancy and companion rooms are available for those who prefer not to be alone.

Each bedroom is equipped with modern safety features including an emergency nurse-call point, thermostatically controlled radiator, thermometer, smoke detector, window restrictor, electrical sockets, and television point. Remote controlled LCD fl at screen televisions are available on request.

Every Resident is encouraged to bring personal items and furniture with them to make their room as personal as possible, not only for comfort but also for orientation.

Temperatures in the home are monitored regularly and as a safety precaution, all radiators are covered. Water temperatures are also closely monitored and kept at a safe level.

We can also accommodate small pets.

Shower rooms, bathrooms, and toilets are located on all fl oors.

Cuisine

We serve four meals a day – breakfast, lunch, tea and a light snack in the evening. All our food is prepared daily by our qualifi ed chef using only the freshest produce and every menu offers a choice of nutritious and well balanced dishes.

Residents can choose to dine in the Home’s attractive dining room or in their bedrooms if they prefer. Drinks and snacks are served throughout the day and Horlicks and Ovaltine served at bedtime.

We cater for all tastes and dietary requirements whether they are religious, cultural, or physical, and cater for those special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries.

In addition, we also provide meals for friends and family when visiting our Residents.visiting our Residents.
