Preceptorship
• Each NQ practitioner will be assigned a preceptor
• Preceptorship period will be a minimum of 6 months
• Each of you will receive intensive support in week 1.
• You will be supported for 1½ days per month in either formal taught/directed study or 1:1 supervision in practice.
• All Divisions offer a bespoke preceptorship program
• Minimum of 2 weeks supernumerary status on starting your new post.

• Open the Person Specification and tailor you application to this.
Application
• Posts will be offered according to how well you performed at interview, we use a scoring grid to assess this. The higher you score the more likely you are to secure your post.
• Depending on time of interviews, we may be in the position to offer you a post but unsure of the exact area.
• Final appointments will be confirmed by the local divisional lead/main recruiter
Application Process• Ensure that you answer each part of
every question • Account for any periods where you haven’t
worked• Be honest - do not exaggerate or lie about
qualifications or previous experience– Transferable skills
• Add in voluntary employment• Proof read
• Mention Evidence Based Practice somewhere in your application
• Think about accountability, what does this mean to you
• Tell us why you want to work at UHS, and which speciality you are interested in, and about the trust values and how you are going to work within them
• If you have ANY convictions/cautions you MUST declare them on your application, no matter how minor you might think they are!
• Honesty and integrity is paramount
