BELIEVING IN JESUS CHRIST Throughout the Easter season, all three of the Sunday readings are taken from the New Testament--the Christian scriptures. Together they explore what it means to believe in Jesus as the Christ, the One who fulfilled the prophecies of the Jewish scriptures. Today's selections refer to our human weakness, yet

they emphasize the forgiveness and peace that are available to those who put their faith in "Jesus Christ the righteous one" (1 John 2:2). In the Acts of the Apostles Peter invites everyone to "repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away" (Acts 3:19). The First Letter of John calls Jesus Christ "expiation for our sins" (1 John 2:2). Finally, in the Gospel Jesus greets the disciples with "Peace" and urges them to preach "repentance, for the forgiveness of sins" (Luke 24:47).

Join your fellow parishioners for coffee, fellow-ship and sharing after the 9am and 11am Mass

every Sunday in the Parish Hall.

ABCD We are still short of meeting our goal. If you have not yet given to ABCD and would like to there is still time. Envelopes are still available in the church. Thank You.

Are you having an event or need a room for a repast. Our Parish Hall and Assembly Area are for rent with a three hour minimum. Please check with the office for our reasonable rates.

"Receive Communion often, very often...there you have the sole remedy, if you want to be cured. Jesus has not put this attraction in your heart for nothing..."

World Day of Prayer will be observed on Sunday, April 22nd, also known as "Good Shepherd Sunday." The purpose of this day is to publically fulfill the

Lord's instruction to, "Pray the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest" (Mt 9:38; Lk 10:2). Please pray that young men and women hear and respond generously to the Lord's call to the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, societies of apostolic life or secular institutes. You can find many resources to promote a culture of vocations on the USCCB Vocations webpage (www.usccb.org/vocations)..

Instagram Dangers April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. An Instagram website allows members to digitally edit, upload and share photos and short videos with other members. While entertaining and fun, be aware that accounts are default set to “public” viewing. This can be manually modified. Additionally images are also “geotagged” by default, meaning their locations can be tracked. Child molesters have used this technology to locate victims. As technology continues to change rapidly, all of us charged with protecting children must continue to stay abreast of the new programs and applications that may be used by predators to manipulate and exploit children.

The Archdiocese of Miami has robustly participated in the Unites States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People since its inception over 15 years ago and has been in compliance every year. This can only happen with the dedication of pastors, principals, directors and coordinators of religious education, administration and staff in collaboration with parents and volunteers. Tips for Protecting Children and the Vulnerable No one has the right to have access to children. No one, no matter who they are, has an automatic right to be around children or vulnerable adults who are in the care of the Church without proper screening and without following the rules. Volunteering is a privilege that comes with responsibilities. Common sense is not all that common. Dioceses, schools, parishes, and especially families must educate themselves and others on how to protect children.
