"Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour of night when the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and not let his house be broken into. So too, you also must be
prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come." - Mt 24:43-44

DECEMBER 1, 2013
Madonna & Child Statue
This beautiful statue was salvaged from the Passionist Retreat House in West Springfield several years ago and brought to Notre Dame Church in Easthampton where it still resides today. There is a hope that we might be able to relocate the statue to Our Lady of the Valley Parish
Hall. Due to the weight and value of the statue and the base, professional movers are required to move it. We have an estimate from AR Green of $2,900 to move the statue. If you would like to make a donation to help in this endeavor to move the statue to our parish hall, please put your contribution in an envelope marked “Statue” and either place it in the basket or drop it off at the Rectory. Thanks for your help! Note: With gratitude we acknowledge a generous donation made in loving memory of Sue Plourd from the Plourd family
Due to the holiday, the bulletin for Nov. 30/Dec. 1 was sent to the publisher early therefore the collection amounts for November 23/24 will be in the Dec. 7/8 bulletin.
Christmas Flower envelopes: For those parishioners
who do not use envelopes and would like to contribute towards the OLV Christmas flower expense in memory of loved ones, there are flower envelopes located at the entrances to the church for your convenience.
Retired Religious Collection next weekend: As
you consider our retired and infirm religious, know you are ever remembered in their prayers. Prayer for them is a ministry of gratitude.
Our Lady Child Care Center
Fundraiser: OLCCC is having a
Pajama/Book Drive for children in need in western Massachusetts. There will be a drop box located in the front of the church, as well as, the lobbies of Florence Savings Bank, Easthampton Savings Bank (the one at the
rotary), Aubuchon’s Hardware and the Easthampton Post Office until December 6
th. We are looking for pajamas
and/or books for children 0-18 years of age. The pajamas and books must be new and we ask that the pajamas be a complete, two piece set or nightgown. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

The Advent Virus
WARNING WARNING ADVENT VIRUS Be on the alert for symptoms of inner Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. The hearts of a great many have already been exposed to this virus and it is possible that people everywhere could come down with it in epidemic proportions. This could pose a serious threat to what has, up to now, been a fairly stable condition of conflict in the world. Some signs and symptoms of The Advent Virus:
● A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences.. ● An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment. ● A loss of interest in judging other people. ● A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of
others. ● A loss of interest in conflict. ● A loss of the ability to worry.
(this is a very serious symptom) ● Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation. ● Contented feelings of connectedness with others
and nature. ● An increasing tendency to let things happen rather than make them happen. ● An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to
extend it.
