Christian Meditation Group: In an age of rush and noise, it is essential that we find time to be still and quiet. “Be still and know that I am God,” says the Psalmist. In this prayer of silence called Christian Meditation we find God who dwells in our own heart. And, in finding Him, we find our own selves and thus, are renewed. A Christian Mediation Group regularly meets Mondays at 7:30pm in our School Library. Please call Fran at 488-4229 to learn more about this program.

SERVICE OPPORTUNITY Hot lunch help is needed: Please take a look at the hot lunch volunteer schedule. We have a number of open slots available. If you have any questions about volunteering, contact Colene Crowley at [email protected]. Country Fair News: We are looking to fill a few chair positions. We need a Saturday BBQ chair and a Photo booth chair. If you are interested in helping, please contact either Nadia Leslie at [email protected] or Yvette Gordon at [email protected].

The Tuesday Bulletin Submission Request Form can be found on Beehively by clicking on the “Files” tab.

Please note that all submissions must be received by 3:00pm on the Monday prior to bulletin inclusion date :)

OUR VIRTUE OF THE WEEK: RESPONSIBILITY Responsibility is being freely accountable for our actions through knowing what’s right and good and striving to do our best. Scripture Reference—Galatians 6:4 Each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason to boast with regard to himself alone, and not with regard to someone else; for each will bear his own load. Responsibility With rights come responsibilities. Or, as Spiderman would tell you, “With great power comes great responsibility.” Our students identify with that Spiderman nugget of wisdom, but they are also in the process of learning and forming themselves in this important virtue. An understanding of knowledge not only makes democracy work, but is also central to our faith. The gift of free will entails the development of conscience so we can make informed choices based on Gospel values and Catholic teaching. We are free not only to reject unethical behavior, but also to choose the good for ourselves and for others. Thus, a well-formed conscience is a responsibility we carry throughout our lives. It is educated so that it directs us to act on what is right. It helps us follow the teachings of Christ. As part of this lifelong responsibility, we seek the guidance of God’s word in Scripture, listen to the teachings of the Pope and bishops, fill our minds and hearts with the love and wisdom of our faith, look for guidance from other members of our Catholic family, and pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Parents, who are the first and primary educators of their children, play an important role in the development of responsibility for every child. Of course, teachers do, too. Responsibility is taught through example, through training, and through love. Responsibility in Action “When you blame others, you give up your power to change.”

--Anonymous

Another word for responsibility is accountability-taking ownership for our actions and not placing blame for our mistakes or errors in judgment on someone else. As someone once said, “When I point my finger at you, three more are pointing at myself.” Refusing to be responsible for our choices results in a state of arrested development where we are unable to grow in wisdom, humility, or understanding. Reflect on a way you have been able to change by taking responsibility for your life. How has this freed you to be a more loving and compassionate person?

Missoula Children's Theatre is returning to OLA! Two directors from MCT are scheduled to be with us from Monday, April 13, 2015, through Saturday, April 18, for auditions, workshops, and two performances of ALADDIN starring . . . our students! A swirling sandstorm of famous Arabian Tales ranging from Ali Baba to Scheherazade to Sinbad the Sailor! This original musical production has approximately 50 roles available for students, Grades 1 through 8. The production is part of the Missoula Children's Theatre's unique international touring project. No advance preparation is necessary, and all students are encouraged to audition for parts and to volunteer for the all-important stage management responsibilities. Most students rehearse approximately 4 ½ hours each day, Monday through Friday, after school, but not all players will be required for all of every rehearsal. Performances are scheduled for Saturday, 19April, at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. There will be many opportunities for a variety of volunteer hours. Some solicitations of assistance are included in this notice, and others will be posted soon. For more information contact parent volunteer Michael P. Malloy at 916-716-7645 or [email protected]. Missoula Children's Theatre Needs Your Help. Two volunteers are needed to help make this experience a success. The first volunteer will coordinate dinners for the directors and the pianist for rehearsal evenings. The second volunteer will organize the cast party. If you would like to volunteer, or would like more information please contact Michael P. Malloy at 916-716-7645 or [email protected]. Missoula Children's Theatre Needs Host Families. Two volunteer families are needed to provide housing for the two MCT Tour Actor/Directors. Housing must be provided for a total of seven nights, Sunday to Sunday, 12 through 20 April 2015. Housing must be private (one person per room), clean, comfortable and safe, for each of the two Tour Actor/Directors, with access to a phone land-line or sufficient cell phone coverage. For the Tour Actor/Directors, the host families often provide wonderful memories and may launch new friendships. This is a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange and a “home away from home” experience for the team. If you would like to volunteer, or would like more information please contact Michael P. Malloy at 916-716-7645 or [email protected]. Missoula Children’s Theatre Ticket Sales. We need someoneto manage ticket sales for MCT this year. We will be selling tickets Friday, 17 April, before and after school, followed by sales at Extension; and Saturday, 18 April, prior to each performance. The performance times are 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
