    ADVENT CRISIS... WHAT'S YOURS?

What are our worries, problems, doubts, and other concerns during Advent? Do they pertain to Advent or about Christ-mas? No real preparation during Advent means no genuine celebration of Christmas. Otherwise, it's just a pure ritual and merely a memorial of the past that has nothing to do with our present life. John the Baptist underwent a very serious crisis of faith by asking: "Are you the One Who is to come or should we look for another?" Many of us have this same question... is really God coming? In other words, we are all like John the Bap-tist, undergoing a crisis of faith. Let us listen to the soothing words of Jesus: "Go and tell John what you hear and see; the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have the good news proclaimed to them.” God allows even His most favored and most faithful followers to undergo crises in life. The doubts that assail us and the difficulties that test our faith are part of our growing in maturity as believers. Don't be anxious when crisis confronts you. A crisis is both a danger and an opportunity. While a crisis can make us fall, it can also make us soar. When you are undergoing a crisis, don't keep it to yourself. Talk to a friend or friends, or a counselor. But above all, talk to God. Trust that God will see you through. God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial, he will also provide a way out. It's only a matter of faith in God. Trust Him!
