Dear Parishioners of Our Lady of Las Vegas, Last Saturday, September 21, I celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Ordination to the Priesthood. I offered my intention at the concelebrated Mass as one of thanksgiving above all to God, the creator and giver of every gift. I am most grateful for all the blessings and graces that He has bestowed upon me through those 40 years. I had the opportunity to serve in many parishes both in United States and Canada and meet so many faithful people that I know have supported me with their friendship, love and their prayers. I want to sincerely thank all of you who were able to be at attendance at the Mass, those who expressed their best wishes, presented cards and gifts. I want to especially extend thanks to:

Our pastor Father Gerry, for his homily, my brother priests who joined in concelebration of the Mass, the altar servers, members of my family and Canadian guests who came from faraway, our organist and music director, David Kowaleski, and the Schola, all of the office and maintenance staff, the Knights of Columbus who cooked hamburgers, and the ladies of the Filipino Community and the Women’s Guild who brought so many delicious dishes.

May God bless and reward you all for goodness and generosity.

Please be mindful of not shaking others’ hands for the Sign of Peace when you are sick and could pass on germs, especially during flu season. No one is obligated to shake hands at the sign of peace. As an alternative to

shaking hands, you may simply bow to those around you and say, “Peace be with you.” If your fellow parishioners decide upon this option, do not be offended, as it is merely for sanitary concerns and is not personal. You may also want to consider not taking the Blood of Christ while you are sick.

Office of Victim’s Assistance Help is available to you or anyone who has been abused or victimized by someone representing the Roman Catholic Church. Contact the Victim Assistance Coordinator at 702-235-7723.
