Give Jesus A Spiritual Bouquet For His Birthday
This Christmas! What is a Spiritual Bouquet? A Spiritual Bouquet is simply a
collec"on of prayers the giver (you) has offered up, or will offer up
to the recipient (Jesus). And the best thing about the gi* of prayer
is that it has eternal value so it lasts forever.
Every "me we go to Mass, receive Holy Communion, or pray, we
can offer it up for a Special Inten"on. Below are some prayer
sugges"ons that adults and children can offer to Jesus as a gi*, or
for some Special Inten"on (for example, for the conversion of souls
to His Sacred Heart).
Sugges!ons For Adults
ó Masses and/or Communions ó Seven Sorrows of Our Lady ó Holy Hours
ó Rosaries ó St. Michael Chaplets ó Novenas
ó Divine Mercy Chaplets ó Time in Adora"on ó Other
Sugges!ons For Children
ó Masses and/or Communions ó Glory Be Prayers ó Rosaries
ó Our Father Prayers ó Apostle’s Creed ó Other
ó Hail Mary Prayers
All prayers for the Spiritual Bouquets should be completed in the "me period between the First Sunday of Advent,
November 27th, and the Feast of Our Lord’s Bap"sm on Sunday, January 15th. A Spiritual Bouquet is typically given
to someone in the form of a card. All birthday cards to Jesus should include both the First Name of who it is from,
and how many "mes you prayed a certain prayer, or went to Mass for Our Lord’s Inten"ons. You are welcome to
make your own personalized card, or take one of our cards to complete.
There will be a box on the side altar in the back of Church (behind the
Confessional Room) for people to deposit their Spiritual Bouquets from Sunday,
December 4th, through Sunday, December 25th. If you have any ques"ons, please
contact Mari at (847) 596-2150.
Please Note: A Spiritual Bouquet can be given to anyone for any occasion.
Liturgy Of The
Word For Children
Prayer Leader
Needed Many thanks to
William Steffen who has been leading our children in Prayer for Liturgy Of
The Word For Children for the past 2-1/2 years. Bill and his family have
moved out of the area. We are in need of at least two more people to
keep the Liturgy Of The Word For Children Prac"ce going at the 11AM
Mass.
If volunteers do not come through by the New Year, the Parish will be
forced to discon"nue having the children leave the first part of Mass to
hear and discuss the readings on their level, only to return for the rest of
the Mass at the "me of the Collec"on. If you are interested in
volunteering, please see Fr. Paul or one of the Deacons, and you will be
contacted for training by Diana Jurista.

Advent Prayer Come, long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me a wonder at the wisdom and power of Your Father and ours.
Receive my prayer as part of my service of the Lord who enlists me in
God’s own work for jus!ce.
Come, long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me a hunger for peace: peace in the world, peace in my home,
peace in myself.
Come, long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me a joy responsive to the Father’s joy.
I seek His will so I can serve with gladness, singing, and love.
Come, long-expected Jesus.
Excite in me the joy and love and peace it is right to bring to the manger of my Lord.
Raise in me, too, sober reverence for the God who acted there,
hearty gra!tude for the life begun there, and spirited resolu!on to serve the Father and Son.
I pray in the name of Jesus Christ, whose Advent I hail.
