Placement Harvest in ROTN and North Zones
Dear Readers, it gives
great pleasure to share
with you all about our
Impact Celebrations in
this magazine.
The placement drives
are happening in full
swing in our Elite
Colleges. We are glad to
know that our students
are being shortlisted in
various organisations.
We expect the college
out goers to be an
instrument for making
difference in someone’s
life with their
knowledge and
opportunities.
Anushri Ghatak, Trainer,
Gwalior Centre
As we all must have heard this
statement before, that “Life Happens
When We Are Busy Planning Other
Things”.
Probably, this is the time when I can
agree with the same. It is because the
time I spent here at Redington
Foundation, I did not know that what it
will ever mean to me but now when I
turn back and look at those precious
moments I spent with the youth and
the Redington Foundation, I can
always be certain of one thing that I am
really very happy with the chances that
life has given me and is going to give
me.
I have learnt here a lot while helping
people to learn a bit from me. This is
the reason I love the profession, I am in
and will always cherish the same.

India’s young population is becoming
a liability. Almost 47% graduates are
not employable for any industry role.
Lack of communication skills, English
Language (commonly used industrial
language) and People skills are the
main obstacles in fetching them a job.
Delhi’s scenario is even more
complicated, being the capital city of
India, lot of people migrate to Delhi
for Jobs and further studies from
different cities, they have a different
level of education and exposure.
Most of these students can't afford
such sessions because they are
economically underprivileged.
Redington foundation is offering them
the perfect platform to hone these
skills by providing them with the
required infrastructure and 360
degrees curriculum, which help them
enhance their personality not only
just inside but also they thoroughly
work on their outer appearance.
As a personality enhancement trainer
with them I see a lot of changes in the
overall personality of these trainees.
They take so much practical
knowledge with them when
they finish off their sessions
and I can certainly say they
look and feel job ready.

Celebration of your accomplishments raises your
awareness of what you have done.
Celebrate…You will come to know what you have done
We celebrated our accomplishments in various places where our centres
are located, as we have been nearing our 3rd Anniversary.
We all know that Corporate Social Responsibility means the every
qualifying company requires spending of at least 2% of its average net
profit for the immediately preceding 3 financial years on CSR as per the
India’s New Companies Act 2013. And when there are plenty of easy ways
to spend the money for the betterment of the society, Redington
Foundation took the hardest path for its service, but it strongly believes
that it is better to teach someone fishing rather than giving a fish.
We at Redington Foundation train our younger generation to acquire the
skills that are needed for them to survive and succeed in this competitive
world. For the past three years since 2015, we are involved in enormous
CSR activities and February and March of every year had been our
celebration period, which we also call as Impact Period. We commemorate
our past activities in this period and we cheer ourselves for the
succeeding activities.
The celebration of our achievements started in the month of February
and multiple events were conducted at various places. The events were
not restricted as just celebrations; we combined Socio-Cultural events,
Certification Ceremony, Paper Presentations, Science Exhibition, Inter-
college competition, International Conference on CSR, Sahyog
Scholarship events, Technical sessions, etc., along with celebrations. It
had also been a get-together of all the Redington staff.
CSR Impact Celebrations
3
The first celebration started at Thoonga Nagaram, Madurai. CSR
Impact Celebration held on 17th February 2018 at IMA Hall, Madurai
was full of fun and entertainment. Dignitaries from our associated
organisations, Managing Trustee of Redington Foundation, Students,
some of the staff of Redington Group of Companies and our team was
present in the program. The program had Socio-Cultural Events along
with Certification Ceremony for our students.
4
Next Impact program was held in Delhi, in two locations. Initially the
Redington CSR team went to Proconnect, Delhi to create awareness
among the Proconnect employees on CSR initiatives in that region
and involve the Proconnect employees in the CSR activities. And as a
part of awareness program CSR team arranged a soft skill training
for the employees on “Office Etiquettes”.
Secondly, the employees accompanied the CSR team to Ambedkar
Institute of Technology, wherein the MOU for Solar Panel Installation
and Maintenance training was signed between the Ambedkar
Institute of Technology and Redington Foundation. Thereby the
Proconnect employees came to know about the CSR activities and
showed interest and involvement in the further activities of CSR.
The next Impact celebration happened in Alwarkurichi at Sri
Paramkalyani Higher Secondary School, Tirunelveli. The program
had bundle of extravaganzas. Students and Dignitaries from the
associate organisations were present in the meeting along
5
with the Redington foundation team and staff of Redington Group of
Companies. Mr. Clynton Almeida, Chief Information Officer of
Redington India Ltd served as the Chief guest of the program and he
also served as the judge for the Science Project displays in the event.
The next was the International conference held at Trichy on 2nd
March 2018, on the topic “Recent Trends in CSR Projects at Redington
Foundation”. The conference was organised by the team of Redington
Foundation (RAMP Centre), Thanjavur. Mr. Raj Rajendran, Director of
TiE Tampa Bay, FL, USA served as the Chief Guest of the Conference.
6
The intent of the Redington Foundation team to organize the
conference was to bring in an intellectual forum where our stake
holders can participate and share their concepts and ideas on the
Recent Trends in CSR Projects at Redington Foundation. Our
Trustees Dr. Poornima Rao and Mr. Muthukumarasamy and CEO of
ProConnect, Dr. R. Arunachalam were also present in the
programme.
In addition to the paper presentations of our stake holders the guests
shared their experience on the struggles and achievements with
regard to their education and career and the learning curves. It
facilitated us to understand the common attributes of all the life
experiences which will help us to refine the current standard context
of implementation strategy followed in Redington Foundation.

We Rise By Lifting Others

Redington Foundation is honoured to associate with Tirunelveli
Corporation for the development of the children of sanitary workers
and impart the trainings which will help them to become a
professional in the field of Teaching and Technical.
Corporation of Tirunelveli has initiated a project called “New Wings”
in an aim to improve the socio-economic condition of the children of
sanitary workers who have completed 12th and Diploma by providing
them the vocational training like Montessori Teacher Training for the
girls who have completed the Higher Secondary education and Solar
Installation and Maintenance Training for the guys who have
completed ITI / Diploma.
An incident which went viral on Social Medias regarding an attack of
a sanitary worker by a youth when there was a dispute with regard to
the collection of waste for disposal. A statement given by the sanitary
worker after the incident, brought tears in everyone’s eyes. He had
9
mentioned that the disrespect he felt when a person younger to him
attacked him made to feel unworthy for living. This incident
reminded the society that still the discrimination with regard to the
social status prevails and we should take some serious steps to divert
the mindset of the children from taking up their ancestral profession
of sanitary cleaning.
This initiation is started also in a focus to stop deploying human and
to use the modern technologies to carryout these sanitary cleaning
works. Redington Foundation feels so proud to take part of this
project and the imparting of the Montessori Teacher Training
program had already started and being conducted in Sri Sarada
College for Women at Tirunelveli at free of cost.
The program which is running right now also contains 2 physically
challenged students and 11 economically backward student along
with the wards of sanitary workers. We are planning to start the Solar
Installation and Maintenance Training shortly.
We wish to join hands with Tirunelveli corporation to provide many
more trainings like this which will help to eradicate unemployment
and improve the socio-economic status of the educationally and
economically backward group of our society.
These type of initiations gives us the strength that our motto to “make
difference in someone’s life” will be attained constantly.

Every fresher dreams to get placed immediately after the final year of
their studies and it also makes them feel fulfilled with regard to their
first achievement in their career. The current scenario in India is just
contrast to the expectations of the college out goers. A UN Labour
report shows that “Unemployment in India is projected to increase
from 17.8 million to 18 million in 2018”. One of the main reasons for
the unemployment is identified as the employability skills that the
students are lacking with. Though the educational level has improved
in these recent years, skill improvement is still being a pivotal
problem.
Redington Foundation is involved in reforming this situation and
support the students by imparting the necessary employability skills.
But it is also true that there is a huge gap between the rural colleges
and the corporate companies with respect to the placement drives,
therefore Redington Foundation attempted to eliminate this gap by
organising placement drives at the rural colleges with the
coordination of the corporate companies and colleges.
Placement Harvest
in ROTN and North
Zones
As the result, there were so many placement drives happening in the
colleges where our centres are located and the same was shared in the
previous magazine. In February 2018, our Rest of Tamilnadu (ROTN)
zone and North zone in coordination with the college placement cell
had contributed for the placement drive activities. Totally 453
students of ROTN from elite colleges Sengunthar Arts And Science
College, Tiruchengode, AVVM Sri Pushpam College, Thanjavur, Annai
Women’s College, Karur, Annai Arts and Science College,
Kumbakonam, AG Arts and Science College, Tiruppur and 327
students from North zone elite colleges,
Kanchi Sri Krishna College Of Arts & Science, Thirumurugan Arts
And Science College For Women have got shortlisted by various
corporate companies. We wish the students All The Best.
We wish to join hands with more corporate companies to conduct
more placement drives for our students. Every successful placement
drive reminds us that the vision to see our society free from the clutch
of unemployment issue will be attained soon and Redington
Foundation will be a part of that success. 12
