OUR COMMITMENT TO NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE & THEIR FAMILIES

Established to serve U.S. Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, Naval Special Warfare (NSW) support personnel, and their families, the Navy SEAL Foundation provides a comprehensive set of programs specifically designed to reduce the stressors associated with the tremendous amount of uncertainty and pressure that comes with life in Naval Special Warfare. Since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, there has been an unprecedented demand for Special Operations Forces around the globe. SEALs spend up to 270 days away from home each year in the most unforgiving environments, and they train at an unrelenting pace to maintain their ability to execute our nation’s toughest military missions. Their commitment to our country and the mission is only possible because of the significant personal sacrifices they and their families make.

OUR PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

The Navy SEAL Foundation's programs and supported initiatives are designed to enhance the resilience and wellbeing of NSW warriors and their families. We provide a comprehensive portfolio of support programs, and we coordinate, develop, and evaluate our programs to make sure that each one contributes directly and positively to the preservation of our NSW force and family.

The Navy SEAL Foundation provides immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare

community and its families.

WARRIOR & FAMILY SUPPORT

EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Ensuring the Naval Special Warfare community and its families have the support they need in times of achievement and adversity is of the utmost importance to the Foundation. Our warrior and family support programs include resiliency and morale-building events, pre- and post-deployment dinners and reintegration events, summer camps for children, command all-calls, graduations, family days, holiday celebrations and much more. Our tailored command and community-specific events serve to increase NSW’s sense of community and bonding.

When the ultimate sacrifice is made, we stand firmly behind the warrior’s family during their time of crisis. Immediate financial assistance is provided to the surviving family to help cover costs associated with the dignified transfer of remains and memorial services, as well as travel expenses for immediate and extended family. If a service or family member is injured or becomes critically ill, we provide financial and logistical support so they can focus on helping their loved one heal. We also provide support for the warrior who suffers the loss of a parent, sibling or child. The Foundation helps to create a bridge for critical resources not already provided by the government during these challenging times. Support of surviving families continues for years following the loss of their loved one through a comprehensive set of over 30 specialized programs designed to meet their ever-changing needs.

The Foundation empowers active-duty NSW personnel, their spouses, and children by awarding scholarships for higher education and providing tuition assistance for active duty personnel. We support quality education options for dependent children in geographically separated duty locations where choices matter to the overall success of the student. The Foundation also provides support for standardized college entrance exams for qualified applicants. Additionally, the Navy SEAL Foundation offers numerous educational and professional development workshops delivered by best-in-class professionals to empower and enhance career opportunities.

WARRIOR TRANSITION

VETERAN SUPPORT

The Navy SEAL Foundation is committed to maintaining a resilient, sustainable, and healthy force into perpetuity. At the same time, our commitment extends to those who have served our country with honor and distinction by helping them transition from active duty service into civilian life and ensuring NSW veterans are prepared to maximize career opportunities. To carry forward this commitment, we partner with world class institutions which provide elite transition programs tailored specifically for the NSW community.

The history and heritage of the Naval Special Warfare community is one of extraordinary achievements and exceptional courage. Although the clandestine nature of their activities shields them from public attention, the deeds of these warriors deserve to be remembered and recognized.

The Navy SEAL Foundation provides financial support for memorials and monuments across the country, serves as the co-publisher of “The Blast: Journal of Naval Special Warfare”, and supports other history enrichment activities.

The Navy SEAL Foundation supports post 9/11 SEAL and SWCC Veterans through a responsive and personalized system of care. We offer assistance to those suffering from in-service or service-connected wounds by tailoring support to meet the needs of each individual.

The Foundation also offers transition services to qualified NSW Veterans providing access to world-class transition programs and mentorships.

Upon notification of a non-service-connected death of a SEAL or SWCC Veteran, the Navy SEAL Foundation will provide immediate tragedy assistance funds to the primary next of kin. We serve as a resource hub for families by providing information on beneficial services and other organizations that can assist in meeting their needs.

SEALs continue to take the fight to the enemy in the most austere and dangerous places on the planet. Our nation relies on their strength, resiliency and steadfastness. Never has so much been asked of so few, from so many, for so long. Post 9/11 has been a different kind of war. Because of this unique environment, our SEAL warriors and their families cannot face these challenges alone. Join us in preserving our force and families for future generations of freedom.

NOV2016.1

Built on an unparalleled legacy and established in 2000, the Navy SEAL Foundation is a 501(c)(3), tax exempt, national, benevolent non-profit organization headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA. The Foundation is a resolute cornerstone for the Naval Special Warfare community and their families in times of adversity and triumph. Each of our specialized programs maps directly back to the U.S. Special Operations Command directive and the Naval Special Warfare’s Preservation of the Force and Family Program, a program designed to address the “fraying” of the force caused by the stress of more than 15 years of sustained combat. Our programs are designed to improve health and welfare, build and enhance resiliency, empower and educate their families, and provide critical support during times of illness, injury, and loss.
