Why Ouelessebougou?

A drought in northern Arica during the mid-1980scaught the attention o several community leaders inUtah and they decided to take action by orming theOuelessebougou Alliance.

Tey entered Ouelessebougou, in the south westernregion o the sub-Saharan country o Mali. Mali isone o the poorest countries in the world, and at thattime, the Malian people were recieving very littleinternational aid.

Te Ouelessebougou Alliance currently operates inmore than 70 villages surrounding Ouelessebougou,partnering with village citizens to develop sustainablehealth, education and economic developmentprograms to help the villagers meet their basic needs.
